Loft style has appeared in our vocabulary relatively recently. In the middle of the twentieth century in America, many people were deprived of a roof over their heads, and shop and factory premises, attics of multi-storey buildings, warehouses and abandoned storage facilities became their haven. Gradually, it became more comfortable in such “apartments”, and the aura that was created due to bare walls, hanging pipes and other previously unacceptable elements of housing acquired the status of a separate design style.
Nothing is easier these days than decorating your apartment in this spirit. Such a designer look will look appropriate in a teenager's room, in the living room and even in the kitchen. But many people have doubts about the loft-style bedroom: will it be comfortable to live in such a “harsh” room? In fact, if you approach the interior design of this living space wisely, then any image will give it comfort. Using various decorative elements, textiles and, of course, design tricks, you will achieve the desired result.
So, first of all, let's decide on the walls. Loft-style bedroom will not toleratebright and catchy colors, since the fullness of color will appear in very large details (bricks, pipes, and so on). As a rule, one or two surfaces are decorated with brickwork (it can be decorative or real), and all other walls are plastered and painted in light plain paint. Choose a shade depending on the color of the brick: if it is red, then you can shade it with a snow-white coating or give preference to light gray paint. If the walls are made of gray, white brick, then it is desirable to cover the rest of the surfaces with warm tones. It can be ocher diluted with white, terracotta or pale pink paint.
A loft-style bedroom, like any other, should have a bed in its center. As a rule, furniture in a minimalist style is chosen to create the desired effect. It can be a wooden bed without sides, which is completely hidden under the bedding. If you want to make this piece of furniture more striking, choose a model with a chrome-plated top.
When designing a loft-style bedroom, do not forget that all interior details and furniture must match each other. Therefore, if your bed has a metal frame, then the same material should be used in cabinets, chest of drawers, coffee table. An exception may be upholstered furniture and a closet. As for the latter, it should be noted that it should not attract all attention to itself. A closet in such a room can have a mirrored facade or simply be smooth (matte). If aa drawing will be applied on its doors, it will divert attention to itself, and the general style idea will collapse.
Also, the loft-style bedroom is complemented by carpets. It is not worth covering the floor in such an interior with carpet, since such an interior detail was unacceptable for once abandoned premises. You can lay “duty” rugs near the bed, or place a small rug on the free part of the floor, dim, discreet, but still of high quality.
