Our ancestors built their dwellings from wood, later houses made of brick and stone became widespread. But today's trends in private construction are not only reliability and durability. It is also natural and aesthetic. Therefore, wooden houses have become widespread again. For their construction, various types of wood and lumber are used. But modern technology does not stand still, and now there is an opportunity to reduce the cost and simplify these works by using other materials for the woodworking industry. One such material is a wooden block.
What is this material?
Wooden blocks are logs that have been sawn and finished on four sides. The material meets all the necessary requirements for its use in construction. It is luxurious, reliable, of high quality in terms of operational properties, and even without treatment with modern impregnations, it can retain heat (low thermal conductivity and thermal expansion) and protectroom. The main feature of any wooden structure is that it "breathes" and is completely environmentally friendly, does not pose a danger to human and animal he alth.
Material differences
According to the processing method, it can be of two types: edged and planed bar. Unedged wooden bars have the maximum difference in parameters, sometimes up to 25%.
The appearance is sloppy, there may be slight curvature or uncut edges, but the cost of the material is low. It is produced from wood species such as ash, oak, larch, conifers. Such a beam is suitable for the construction of supporting structures and ceilings. Intra-house buildings are also made from it: these are stairs and railings, window sills and crates for finishing or roofing. But its disadvantage is the appearance, which will have to be masked by applying a top coat. Planed slats are used for the construction of baths, small houses, saunas, sandboxes. They have an excellent appearance due to processing on carpentry and grinding machines. After such procedures, the logs are perfect for the subsequent manufacture of furniture and doors. These rails have high hygroscopic properties. Wood is excellent at retaining moisture. Their distinctive qualities are durability and wear resistance.
How to choose
For building a house, preference is given to coniferous trees. They can not be treated with protective agents, as the resins that make up them will cope with this. Planed wooden blocks from needles -durable, strong, non-deformable product. Their length varies between 3-6 meters. When chamber drying with a moisture content of up to 20%, the slats are used without delay. With a natural moisture content of over 20%, wooden blocks are dried for several days before use. But even such measures will not protect against possible further shrinkage and subsequent deformation.
Quality
Wooden bars are checked for sectional geometry. Standard section values are angles of 90% each (their straightness and evenness can be seen visually).
