In modern times (as well as in all other times) all the pages of books, albums and newspapers have the shape of a quadrangle. Therefore, before proceeding with the explanation of how to make a paper boat step by step, you should prepare one of the sheets of the album or notebook by simply tearing it out and trimming the torn edge with scissors.
Detailed instructions for folding the boat
Now that we have a prepared square sheet of paper, let's proceed to a detailed instruction on how to fold a paper boat step by step. And here's how we do it:
- The prepared sheet must first be folded along the transverse midline. This is easy to do, you just need to make sure that the opposite sides of the rectangle coincide with each other perfectly. You can run your fingernail along the bend line to make the bend more “fixed”. Those who have prepared the ruler can use its help. The main thing at the time of drawing the ruler along the bend line is to firmly press the resulting double quadrilateral to the table, otherwise, if the bend deviates slightly, the opposite sides will no longer match perfectly, and the boat itself will be slightly uneven.
- We have a sheet folded in half with a bend line upwards. Our task is to find the center of this side of the bend. To do this, we again fold our workpiece in half, but we notice only the center of the side of the initial bend. When we have outlined, we unfold a sheet of paper to a double-folded state.

To do this, you need to take a brush, melt the paraffin candle and coat the bottom with liquid paraffin. After the paraffin hardens, the boat will become waterproof.
Origami boat with two sails
Next, we will tell you how to make a two-sail paper boat step by step. First of all, for this we need exactly a square sheet of paper. So, the "assembly" method:
- Bend the sheet diagonally, evenly combine the sides related to one of the right angles. The strip that was not covered by the resulting diagonal bending of the uppertriangle, and will be superfluous. In order not to use scissors and a ruler with a pencil, simply bend the remaining (extra) piece of paper sheet along the line of the resulting double triangle. Draw along the curved line with your fingernail. Then simply carefully tear off (cut off) the excess strip.
- Next, bend the square along another diagonal to outline the lines of bends that will come in handy later.
- Bend two opposite corners to the center. These will be future boards.
