The choice of finishing materials for interior and exterior work always depends on the individual taste of the homeowner or the design solution. However, over the years, the fashion for natural eco-friendly finishing materials does not go away. One of them is considered a wooden lining. It has a number of exclusive qualities, such as beauty, durability, integrity of the coating, ease of installation.
lining and eurolining
The material has its own history. Initially, boards with specially processed edges were used for sheathing wagons. Thanks to the groove on one side and the protrusion (thorn) on the other, the boards were very tightly connected to each other, and such a sheathing guaranteed the absence of cracks for a long time.
The name "evrovonka" began to be used not so long ago, in principle, this is the same lining, but made in accordance with the international standard DIN 68126, adopted in Europe. The standard fixes the grade (depending on the quality of wood), profile, humidity, quality of processing and strictlyregulated sizes of eurolining.
Sizes
A simple lining has a fairly wide range of parameters, its thickness can vary from 1.2 to 2.5 cm, width - from 8 to 15 cm, length - from 60 cm to 6 m. standard, - 12, 5x96 mm. Four lengths are used - 2, 1, 2, 4, 2, 7 and 3 meters. However, domestic manufacturers declare several more options: thickness - 1, 3, 1, 6 and 1.9 cm with a width of 8, 10, 11 and 12 cm, while the length is limited to 6 m.
Since drying in chambers is used for eurolining, its standard humidity should not exceed 10-15%, while the usual humidity is twice as high.
The main parameter by which eurolining and ordinary lining differ is the size of the spike. In eurolining, it occupies 9% of the width of the board, or 8 mm, while the protrusion in a regular one is from 4 to 6 mm.
Each board of eurolining, unlike a simple one, necessarily has grooves on the back side, which serve as air ducts and prevent the formation of condensate, and also reduce the internal stress of wood associated with temperature changes.
The size of eurolining significantly affects its price, however, as does the grade. The most expensive is the “Extra” lining, followed by grades A and B, and the least quality (respectively, the cheapest) belongs to grade C.
Lining can be used both for interior and exterior cladding (balconies, facades). At the same time, thinner material is used for the inner lining - up to 16 mm, and for the liningfacades - the so-called wooden siding (evrolining sizes - from 18 to 25 mm).
Material price
The required amount of lining is determined by the net size (without a spike). The shorter the board, the cheaper it costs. For example, the price of a cubic meter of a board up to 1.7 m long is one and a half times lower than the price of a standard length board - from 2.1 to 3 meters.
So, the parameters by which eurolining should be selected are dimensions, price. The total amount spent will depend on the surface area to be sheathed. So, the cost of a standard package (10 boards) is approximately the same, but the length of the boards may vary. Therefore, the number of square meters that can be sheathed by buying one package is different. The final amount of the purchase depends on what length of the board is chosen. By correctly calculating the right number of boards of the required length, you can save a lot.
