Now, understanding how profitable it is to have an apartment heat meter at home, let's turn to the question of how to choose the right model. There are residential and industrial meters. The first ones are usually small in size with a channel not exceeding 15-20 millimeters. For the most accurate calculation, use a flow meter. But its installation is not always justified, because the temperature in the heating main, the pressure in the pipe, the volume of the coolant and the density must be taken into account.
Counters are of the following types:
- tachometric;
- ultrasonic;
- electromagnetic;
- vortex;
- radiator distributors.
Tachometric counter
This residential heat meter has a mechanical action. It can be of several types, but the principle of operation is the same - the device counts the hot water flowing through the battery. For correct accounting, it is necessary to additionally install a filter, since the water flows in the system is rusty and dirty, due to which the readings will soon not be correct. Ultrasonic counter
The apartment ultrasonic heat meter is manufactured in different versions. But they all differ only in flow meters. The device is installed in the pipe for forward and reverse flows. The emitter transmits the ultrasound signal through the liquid, and the receiver receives it, highlighting the data.
The arrow on the water flow transducer must match the direction of the liquid. Also install temperature sensors in the circuit.
Electromagnetic meter
This type of device is installed on both open and closed heating systems. It is convenient to calculate the heat in an apartment with their help, but they are expensive. An electromagnetic meter consists of a primary converter, an electronic unit and a temperature sensor. It automatically reads both water and heat supply and temperature flow, operating on the principle of electromagnetic induction.
Vortex Counter
The vortex meter for heat in the apartment works on the principle of the Carnot path. When an artificial interference is formed on the path of water, the liquid bends around it, and vortex flows appear. The device measures steam and water. It is installed horizontally between the nozzles.
Radiator distributor
Such devices save in those houses where common house heat meters are installed, but due to several vertical risers in the apartment, most other typesindividual appliances are not suitable. The radiator distributor calculates the relative heating temperature, not the absolute temperature. The latter type of calculation is achieved in this case after counting the readings of the distributor and the common house meter. Payment for individual consumption is made using the method approved by Gosstroy of the Russian Federation.
The operation of the device is that it records the temperature on the surface of the radiator, as well as inside the room. The temperature in the room is programmed and is at the level of twenty degrees. Measurement from the battery is carried out once every three minutes. This type of meter does not require cutting the battery. It is attached to the radiator depending on the design.
When deciding to purchase an appliance, one should take into account the heat escaping from doors, cracks, windows, and so on, especially in the case of heating with electrical appliances. If you want to save money, you should insulate the entire apartment in advance and seriously. Then the temperature will be constant, which will be recorded by heat meters, the price of which varies from three and a half thousand rubles to thirty-five thousand or more. And these readings will have a positive impact on payment receipts, and the cost of the meter itself will quickly pay off.
