You have purchased multiimpressive blinds and are in high spirits, looking forward to how they will change your room and how beautiful they will look on the window. But what a misfortune - they still need to be somehow attached to this very window.
You can, of course, invite a master who will do such a responsible job for a certain amount of money. Why don't you install your own blinds?
First you need to decide where you will hang them. No, it is clear that you need to install blinds with your own hands on the window, and not on the front door, but they can be attached both to the ceiling and directly to the window opening. It all depends on both the design and the size of the blinds. If your plastic blinds exactly match the size of the window, then you will have to mount them directly on the opening. If their size is larger, then we will install the blinds with our own hands on the ceiling or on the wall. Well, if they are smaller than the window, then you will have to carry them back to the store, since there will be no point in hanging them.
Since you have read up to this point, it means that you still decided to install blinds with your own hands. The decision is correct and worthy of a thinking and skillful being. Let's get started.
We arm ourselves with a drill, a knife and a screwdriver (if there is no screwdriver, then a regular screwdriver will do). You will also need the help of a pencil and a building level.
Using a knife, carefully open the box with blinds and see what we have to deal with. The standard package should include a cornice, latches for it, lamellas (these are the plates that actually make up the blinds, depending on your choice, they can be wooden, plastic, or woven), chains, brackets, latches, control cord, dowels, screws and installation instructions.
If something is missing, then do not immediately blame the bad employees of the store. It may not be necessary to install your blinds.
Next, we take a pencil and a level in our hands, and outline the places for attaching the eaves. Try to do this as carefully as possible, otherwise the look of obliquely attached blinds will not add aesthetics to your interior, and the mechanism for turning the slats will constantly jam.
Holes are drilled in selected places, and eaves latches are attached to the brackets. You will need brackets if you decide to mount the blinds to the wall, and not to the ceiling. A cornice is inserted into the latches, and the most creative part of the work begins - the installation of lamellas. They must be carefully removed from the box one at a time and immediately attached to the runners. It is this sequence of actions that is due to the fact that if you mix up the order of the lamellas, then you will then have to spend quite a lot of time collectingoriginally conceived by the manufacturer. However, if you prudently chose plastic blinds without patterns or are a fan of avant-garde trends in art, then this should not bother you.
After all the slats are in place, a guide chain is attached to them, and the process of installing the blinds with your own hands can be considered complete with a clear conscience.
Collecting the rubbish carefully, washing our hands and enjoying the view of the blinds installed in the room.
