Hot-rolled steel sheet is a metal product of the simplest geometric configuration, which is a very popular consumable in modern production. The product has found application in various areas of the economy, in architecture, construction, civil and military aviation, in the production of automobiles, machine tools, bridge construction, finishing works and design.
The popularity of this product is largely due to the relatively low price of hot-rolled sheet. In most cases, the product is purchased for further processing. For example, the metal is pulled and cut, thus obtaining a punched exhaust sheet, from which street fences, fittings, stair steps and other products are subsequently made. Quality-manufactured hot-rolled sheet can easily withstand rolling, stamping and drawing.
In the manufacture of steel materials are guided by the requirementsstate standards. For the production of hot-rolled steel sheets, hot rolling technology is used. To create the material, both low-alloyed and plain carbon steel are used. Hot-rolled sheet is produced by pressure treatment of metal heated to a high temperature on calibrated or smooth rolls. Products of this type are supplied in rolls or sheets.
Hot-rolled sheet has the following characteristics. According to the accuracy of rolling, two classes of these materials are distinguished with a thickness of up to 1.2 centimeters. Class A includes products with increased accuracy, and category B - with normal. The mandatory quality characteristics of products include the minimum values of resistance (temporary).
Besides this, there is a thick plate, which is divided into six groups. The first five characterize the production of hot-rolled sheets. The last category includes products with increased strength. Sheet materials are produced in normal, high and extra high flatness.
The most complex process of production of hot-rolled steel sheets begins with the receipt of blanks (slabs) at a metalworking enterprise. These components are usually cast from carbon or alloy steel.
At the initial stage, the blanks are heated to the required temperature, which depends on the composition of the metal and the desired result. Failure to comply with this condition may result in a reductionthe quality of the finished material.
At the next stage, the slabs are sent to a rolling mill, with the help of which the steel billets are given the required size and shape. In appearance, hot-rolled sheet may differ depending on the profile and rolls used in the production. Hot steel gets the required thickness in the process of moving through the rolling mill. In this case, there are two production stages: roughing and finishing. If trimming of uneven edges was not performed, then the hot-rolled sheet is classified in accordance with technical standards as untrimmed.
