An important task is not just to mount the TV on the wall, but to make it as comfortable and convenient as possible. Looking at a screen hung close to the ceiling is convenient only from a prone position. Other positions may cause tension in the eyes and neck.
TV panel manufacturers recommend the following:
- check the wall for its strength, you can't place plasma on the drywall surface, it just won't support the weight;
- turn to a professional master if there is no self-confidence;
- you can mount the TV on the wall alone only if its total weight is not more than 25 kilograms;
- connection to the network is prohibited until the installation is complete;
- when placing the TV, remember that air must flow to its back wall, otherwise the panel will overheat.
Proper placement of the TV is not only about installing it, but also about maintaining the interior solution. The device can be framed with a special decorative frame or installed in a niche of a certain color. Alldepends on the individuality of the interior.
Features of fixing the TV to the wall
Mount only on a flat and clean surface, without protrusions or depressions.
The distance from the floor is not less than a meter, and the distance to the nearest TV viewing place must exceed the size of its diagonal at least three times. It is possible to look at the screen without losing the brightness of the image if it is attached to the wall at an acute or right angle.
Avoid installation locations where the sun's rays can directly affect the equipment. From this, the picture is lost, and the surface may suffer. It is not recommended to install the TV mount on the wall near window or door openings.
When assembling the bracket with your own hands, it must be well fixed on the wall surface. For reliability, you can use a thick thread or belt.
Types of brackets
Plasma surface mounting devices can be stationary and rotary.
In the first case, the bracket is simply installed against the wall, and the TV is fixed in a certain position on a permanent basis.
Rotators have more functions, but such devices are also more expensive. Rotary, in turn, can be divided into:
- folding;
- rotary;
- tilt and turn.
The brackets come in different sizes for different TVs. TV wall mount32 inches is more often swing-out, and for large diagonals - inclined and stationary. Everything is connected with a large mass of devices with a wide screen. The swivel option just won't take the load.
Any kind of bracket can be purchased at the store. The larger the diagonal of the TV, the higher the cost of the bracket will be. Therefore, it is not surprising that many have a desire to make DIY wall mounts for the TV.
Making a bracket with your own hands
Before starting work, you need to decide what the wall mount for the TV will be in the finished version. It is easier to manufacture a stationary bracket. You can save several times without buying one for a large TV.
Having prepared a drawing, you can understand what materials and tools will be needed in the work. Calculations can be carried out manually or using a computer program. Also, the diagram can show the reliability of the connection of parts. It must be of the highest quality, otherwise the design will not withstand the weight, and the long-awaited purchase will simply shatter.
Bracket made of bars
Elementary wall mount for LG TV and not only consists of three bars, they are selected according to the length of the structure. In one of them, holes are made at the same distance from each other. This bar will be attached to the TV case. Do this carefully so as not to damage the equipment.
Fastening is done with bolts. The second bar is mounted on the surface, its fastening must be careful, also with bolts. The third bar will connect the device to the wall, with its help you can adjust the angle of inclination. Then the whole structure is firmly fixed.
Mounting on a pipe wall
Wall mount for Samsung TV can be assembled from a rectangular pipe. Pipe dimensions should be selected individually for your model, taking into account functionality.
If the distance is small, such as only 20 mm, then the panel will be tightly adjacent to the wall, and the ability to connect equipment will be difficult. With a large distance from the surface, for example, 60 mm, there will be an opportunity to connect additional wires, but this design looks ugly. The best option is a distance of 40 mm. And the height of the pipe can be 60 mm.
Its length depends on the length of the TV itself and the distance between the mounting holes. A 42 TV wall mount must support its weight.
Making the wall mount
Having decided on the dimensions, you can prepare the desired pipe. Next comes the markings for the holes. On the pipe itself, you need to make holes with a diameter of 10 mm for mounting a TV, and for mounting on a wall - three more with a diameter of 8 mm.
They are marked at the same distance from each other and from the edges of the pipe.
The grooves for mounting the TV should be twisty, this will prevent accidental lifting or displacement.
The pipe can be attached to the wall in different waysfixtures. If it is brick, then it is better to use dowel-nails, if wooden, then self-tapping screws. The main thing is to fulfill the main task - a strong mount. Then the workpiece can be brought into a noble form by painting it. This piece of rectangular pipe will be attached to the wall.
Fixing the details on the TV
Next, you need to make a part for mounting the TV panel itself. This will require the following:
- bolts - 2 pieces with a diameter corresponding to the thread for mounting on the TV (in this case, 20 mm grade M5);
- washers - 4 pieces with inner diameter 5 mm, outer 20 mm;
- rubber bushings with an inner diameter of 5 mm, with an outer diameter of 10 mm, they must match the diameter of the grooves in the pipe.
If necessary, the mount for the TV on the wall can be adjusted in inclination, for this one of the bolts can be used longer, install a locknut on it, which will adjust the rotation.
Production of stops
Next, you need to start making stops to the wall, these will be the two lower bolts of the TV.
In order for the bolts to gently rest against the wall, you can put rubber pads on them, which can be made from improvised materials, for example, from an old hose from a car. Two screws with stops and bolts with washers and bushings are installed on the TV. The TV comes with special mounting tapes, they also need to be fixed.
Assembling the entire bracket at the installation site.
To begin with, we attach the prepared pipe to the wall with nails or self-tapping screws. Installation is more correct to carry out with the building level. Next, hooks are made opposite the loops attached to the TV.
Now you can make wall mounts for your Samsung TV. It is better to do this with an assistant, even if the weight of the panel is small. Hang up the TV, adjust the angle and fix it firmly.
How to hide cables?
When the panel is permanently installed in a specific location, it is good practice to hide the cables in a hole in the wall.
To do this, you have to ditch the channel. If the feasibility of such a channel is in question, you can simply close the wires with a special plastic box. It can be purchased at any hardware store. Initially, it is white, but it can be painted to match the interior or made contrasting. You can close the box with wallpaper in color.
So, we figured out how to make DIY TV wall mounts so as not to resort to expensive professional help.
