There are no trifles in building a house. Each stage is very important, because it carries some kind of load. But the basis of everything is the foundation. The stability of walls, roofs, ceilings will depend on how objectively you assess the situation on your site, how carefully you conduct a study of the soil and groundwater, what foundation you choose for the house, the stability of walls, roofs, and ceilings will depend.

But it is not always possible to do all of these studies. A good helper here can be a monolithic foundation slab. A huge advantage of this option is the possibility of its use in almost any area, regardless of the soil. The single base creates a floating base that can move with the soil.

To make the house more stable, the perimeter of the log house should not be larger than the dimensions that a monolithic foundation slab has. Its thickness can be different, but not less than 20 cm. The structure of the base depends on the materials used. As a basis, you can take a finished monolithic reinforced concrete slab. This will significantly reduce the construction time, but there will be a question of delivering such a heavy load to the site. An easier option is to fill the foundationdirectly on the site. This will simplify the technology, but increase the time that will be spent preparing the base.

There are several types of pouring to create a foundation, the basis of which is a monolithic foundation slab. Technology, first of all, depends on the choice of the type of foundation. A shallow, deep or non-buried foundation can be used here. A sand cushion is laid in the prepared pit, the depth of which is determined directly from the characteristics of your site. Reinforcement is fixed in the rammed platform, thanks to which the foundation will become more durable. The diameter of the rod, the size and frequency of the cells are calculated taking into account further construction. For small frame walls, you can use a simplified version of reinforcement without reinforced screed. It is better to put a brick on a more solid foundation.

For pouring it is necessary to use high-class concrete, this will ensure the quality of work, and the monolithic foundation slab will serve as a solid foundation for your home for many years. The sequence of the whole process depends on the equipment used. When laying the foundation, one should not forget about waterproofing and thermal insulation of both the slab itself and the joints between the wall and the base. This will remove all possible cold bridges and additionally insulate the house.

A monolithic foundation slab is sometimes used without digging a foundation pit. It is enough to compact the soil andpour a pillow, and then lay a reinforced concrete base.

Floating foundation allows the house to withstand heavy rainfall, on heaving soils, especially in the presence of groundwater. In all these cases, a monolithic foundation slab will be the most suitable choice. The stability of the foundation of the house here overrides the high cost of the entire process.
