Varnish technique
Yacht varnish is applied with a brush, roller, conventional spray. The temperature regime for operation is 15-35°C, relative humidity is not higher than 80%. Average drying time is 4 hours. The varnish must be mixed well before use. If it is too thick, then dilute with white spirit. The surface to be coated must be cleaned, thoroughly degreased with a special mixture, which includes a solvent, after which the prepared wood must dry completely. The first layer is primed with varnish, after diluting it with a solvent by 20%. Further, the undiluted composition is already used. A new coat can only be applied to a dry surface. The recommended number of layers is three. Yacht varnish can be used to cover surfaces already painted with alkyd or alkyd-urethane materials. To do this, it is recommended to treat a small area first to check the compatibility of the coatings. To increase the strength of the varnish will help surface treatment before applying the next layer with fine-grained sandpaper. When drying, it is necessary to prevent drafts, protect the surfaces to be painted from direct sunlight. All work must be carried out in a well-ventilated area. Do not drain the rest of the varnish into the toilet.
