The resistance spot welding machine (also called a spotter) is an indispensable tool in absolutely any kind of production.
Distinguish:
- A high power spot welding machine with large weight and dimensions.
- Low power spot welder with convenient compact dimensions.
Such units are widely used in manufacturing plants of various parts, in particular, in the production of cars.
The compact type resistance spot welding machine can be used in the process of straightening various body panels. In this case, some irreplaceable elements are additionally installed on it, such as a fastening system, a reverse hammer and various materials consumed in the manufacturing process of the part. The system of fasteners is carried out by means of loops and corrugated wire. This advanced equipment makes the spot welding machine more functional and economical.
The purchase of this unit in this particular, supplemented and improved, configuration has a positive effect on the technological process, allows you to reduce operating costs by almostby 20 percent. Of course, any additional parts can be purchased at retail outlets, however, it is much easier to install one unit than to look for space for three, for example.
It is not advisable to buy a so-called spotter and use it for normal body straightening, since such an action will make it impossible to quickly switch straightening devices. In addition, the unacceptable large size (which can significantly reduce the speed of the technological process) will become an undoubted disadvantage of using this method. Many manufacturing companies came to the following decision: two types of units are bought at once: a spot welding machine with high and low power. At the same time, each of the previously described machines has the required equipment, which can significantly increase the efficiency and productivity of work, as well as increase the speed of output of finished products in this area.
For example, body panels are welded using special tongs that are installed on high-power machines, since similar use on low-power electric machines is not able to provide the required level of quality and reliability. In addition, all kinds of arms for attaching tongs are installed on high-power units. This addition must be present without fail. They are less strict about the presence of electrodes and a cooling system in the basic configuration, which is necessary to prevent overheating and premature shutdown of the welding machine. Cooling units can be made in two variations: water and air. The water cooling system is preferred over the air cooling option. However, high quality spot welders can be manufactured with air-cooled systems. At the same time, they perfectly cope with the tasks assigned to them, preventing unwanted overheating.
Finally, it should be noted that spotters can be produced for voltages of 220 V and 380 V. There are no significant differences in power characteristics, quality and functionality.
