Various designs, with the help of which houses or separate premises are heated, do not lose their popularity. In recent years, Butakov's furnaces have been popular. Such units consume almost 10 times less fuel than similar devices. At the same time, the heat transfer coefficient remains at a high level.

Compared to a primitive stove, Butakov's inventions save the resource by almost 2 times.

Design and operation principle of the oven

The principle of operation of Butakov's furnaces is based on the process of convection. The heat-resistant cast-iron grate ensures a long burning process and protects the rest of the installation from high temperatures. In case of failure, the grate can be replaced with a new one without any problems.

The grate provides a uniform combustion process over the entire area of the combustion device and controls the air supply. In order to increase the air supply, it is enough just to slightly open a special window (the faster the combustion process occurs, the soonerthe room will be heated).

Through the grate, the products of combustion enter a special compartment, from where they are subsequently removed. Cleaning can be done directly during the operation of the furnace, because combustion takes place in another compartment. The ash compartment is equipped with a “window” that can be used to regulate the air supply.

Important! The furnace is not intended for long thermal loadings. Therefore, overheating above 350 °C is not allowed.

The design of the above stoves consists of:

  • welded steel body with built-in pipes for convection;
  • convective pipes;
  • grids.

Various combustible materials are used as fuel: firewood, briquettes, branches, etc.

An important feature is the flat top of the body, which can be used for cooking and water heating.

Professor's Furnace Features

Distinctive features of Professor Butakov's furnaces in comparison with prototype designs:

  • burning time is up to 10 hours (this is possible due to the special design, which allows significant savings on consumables);
  • compact dimensions and a wide range of models allow you to install stoves in any room;
  • special combustion waste collection system: condensate, which is formed during the combustion of fuel, is not released into the environment, but flows back into the furnace, where it burns again, and leaves no productsrecycling;
  • ash container: it can be cleaned from combustion products even during operation without harm to he alth;
  • increased heat exchanger area: this should not be forgotten, because strong surface heating can cause burns or fires.

Important! Do not place flammable objects on a flat surface, as this may cause them to ignite.

Model range and scope

The range of Butakov furnaces has a lot of advantages. Also, each device is made in a stylish design and fits almost any interior.

Various power allows you to install stoves both in compact pantries and houses, and in production, and in large workshops.

Professor Butakov's oven "Gymnasist"

An important feature of this model is its layout: a special cooking stove is mounted in the upper part of the body (for example, in the stove "Gymnazist-2" and "Gymnazist-3"). Other models do not have such devices.

Important! The absence of cooking surfaces does not affect the performance of other models and does not interfere with cooking (or boiling water) on them.

Smoke output occurs through the top of the case. This allows you to significantly save space in the room.

Among the disadvantages of this modification are:

  • returning soot and condensate back to the furnace;
  • inconvenience in cleaning the chimney (with each cleaning it has to be pulled out of the furnace).

In the modification of Butakov's oven "Gymnasist-1" no hob is provided.

The main characteristics of the above models are:

  • power - 5 kW;
  • Efficiency - 8.5;
  • heated area - up to 100 m³;
  • weight - 34 kg;
  • dimensions (LxHxD) - 40x50x50 cm;
  • wall thickness - 2.5 mm;
  • firebox volume - 60 l;
  • chimney diameter - 11.5cm;

Heating stove Butakov "Student"

The most common model is "Student". This stove is ideal for country houses, cottages and modern homes. The heating furnace is equipped with pipes of larger diameter, while the thickness of their walls is reduced (this allows you to significantly increase heat transfer, up to 70%).

The chimney is led out through the rear wall of the housing, attached through a tee. This engineering solution allows you to clean the chimney without disconnecting from the stove.

Just remove the bottom of the tee before cleaning.

All condensate and soot fall into the tee, and not into the furnace, as in the models above. The tee is equipped with a valve that can adjust the draft.

To remove condensate, a fitting is installed in the bottom of the tee.

Main specifications are:

  • power - 9 kW;
  • Efficiency - 8.5;
  • maximum heated room size - 150 m³;
  • weight - 57 kg;
  • dimensions (LxHxD) - 37x54.5x65 cm;
  • firebox volume - 74 l;
  • chimney diameter - 12 cm.

There are several modifications of Butakov's furnaces with a water circuit:

  • wood burning;
  • coal.

It is worth noting that fireboxes are made with both metal doors and cast iron doors with built-in glass.

Engineer oven model

Of the entire range, this model is the most popular. It is ideal for small workshops and industrial premises, as well as for private houses and summer cottages. The Butakov furnace has an increased pipe diameter and a reduced wall thickness.

The main technical characteristics of the "Engineer":

  • power - 15 kW;
  • Efficiency - 8.5;
  • maximum heated room size - up to 250 m³;
  • structure weight - 75 kg;
  • dimensions (LxHxD) - 44x64.5x80 cm;
  • firebox volume - 120 l;
  • chimney diameter - 12 cm.

The cheapest is the wood-burning model with a metal door, the most expensive with a glass one.

Furnaces "Associate Professor" and "Professor". Features

Butakov's long-burning furnace "Associate Professor" is most often used for heating various warehouses, industrial premises, workshops, and is also ideal for large private houses.

Specifications of "Associate Professor":

  • power - 25 kW;
  • Efficiency - 8.5;
  • maximum size of the room to be heated - up to 500 m³;
  • installation weight - 143 kg;
  • dimensions (LxHxD) - 57x80x100 cm;
  • volume of furnacedevices - 250 l;
  • chimney diameter - 15 cm.

The cost of this model is about two times higher than that of the "Student".

The Professor oven model is the most powerful of the entire range.

Professor's specifications are as follows:

  • power - 40 kW;
  • Efficiency - 8.5;
  • maximum room size - 1000 m³;
  • weight - 57 kg;
  • dimensions (LxHxD) - 67x111x125 cm;
  • chimney diameter - 20 cm.

This model is the most expensive.

Advantages and disadvantages of ovens

Among the advantages are:

  1. Quite high efficiency.
  2. Quick and uniform heating of rooms.
  3. Ease of installation and operation.
  4. A wide power range allows you to choose the best option for any room (this parameter varies from 7 to 55 kW).

The main disadvantage is the very rapid cooling of the oven when it is turned off.

During the installation of any modification of the stove, special attention should be paid to the chimney: it must comply with absolutely all fire safety rules.

Before installation, the chimney should be insulated. Also, you can not create extra bends.

Important! During operation of the unit, the outer steel casing heats up to high temperatures.

How to choose the right oven

When choosing a heating stove model, the following points should be taken into account:

  1. The area of the room. If it's small it's perfect.will become "Gymnasist" (or "Student"). It does not make sense to install a powerful expensive oven.
  2. Package. Each model has its own modifications, which in one way or another differ from each other (for example, the type of fuel, the presence of sensors or glass on the door).
  3. Chimney diameter.

Installing the oven

Before installation, prepare a place for a heating stove. This does not require the installation of an additional foundation.

The stove is installed on the floor, on a flat insulated surface (metal sheets on asbestos cardboard can serve as such a surface).

The base of the Butakov oven design is equipped with holes for fixing, so it can be fixed on the floor.

Adjacent walls must also be insulated to a level 25 cm above the top edge of the oven. The thermal insulation is plaster on a metal mesh or asbestos cardboard with a metal sheet.

The distance from the wall to the stove must be at least 38 cm.

Line a metal sheet in front of the oven door.

The chimney hole should be insulated.

Butakov's heating stove is installed on a prepared place made of non-combustible materials (for example, on a brick stand).

The last step in the installation is to connect the chimney to the tee and the stove.

Important! All pipe joints should be treated with a heat-resistant sealant.

Important! The chimney should protrude 50 cm above the roof ridge.chimney located in open space must be insulated with a material that can withstand temperatures up to +400 °C.

Be sure to insulate the hole in the roof with special material.

The space around the structure can be equipped with any heat-resistant and non-combustible material.

Professor's Furnace Reviews

Reviews will help you choose the right equipment. Butakov's oven has earned a lot of positive opinions. Note:

  • small sizes;
  • quick and even heating of the entire room;
  • nice looking;
  • possibility of cooking and water heating;
  • sufficient volume for fuel (up to 40 l);
  • good heating even of non-insulated rooms;

Among the shortcomings of Butakov's furnaces are:

  • "reverse stroke" of smoke when the chimney is dirty;
  • impossibility of heating the whole house;
  • frequent breakdowns in models with a glass door;
  • necessity to install tees for ash removal (in some models);
  • difficulty cleaning glass (use a razor or a hard brush for this).

New designs have a special tube to solve the condensation problem. Through it, condensate is discharged directly into the furnace, where it evaporates.

Also, the problem of temperature difference was solved in the furnace due to the installation of grates.

If you have to buy a coal stove, there is nothing to be afraid of. All structural elements are reliably protected by a special heat-resistant casing, whichprotects parts from overheating.

Important! You can install the Butakov furnace yourself.
