Gas industry, chemical industry, oil and oil refineries, domestic gas and water pipelines are just some of the industries in which the ball valve is most commonly used. This choice is not accidental, the features of this particular type of crane allowed it to take a leading position in relation to other models.
Coupling ball valve - why it?
This faucet is the best choice for those pipeline systems that have a small diameter. The raw material from which the brass coupling ball valve is made is, as its name implies, brass. It is she who is the safest material used in pipeline systems. The nut, which is located under the handle, adjusts the gland seal. In the tap itself there are seals made of Teflon, which are movable elements in relation to the tap stem. If a leak occurs, you just need to tighten it (this will press the seal-ring, and the normal operation of the tap will be restored). Due to the peculiarities of its design, the ball coupling valve can easily withstand 2 tens of thousands ofopening/closing. Also, a distinctive feature of this model is its explosion safety. Such a reputation was gained due to the fact that the stem is in the body. Because of this, even if the nut is completely unscrewed or the operating pressure is much higher than the norm, the stem will not be able to fly out.
Shutters
According to the shape of the shutter, ball coupling valves are divided into the following types: butterfly-handle and long handle.
If the diameter of the tap is small, then a butterfly valve is usually used for it. Opening the tap in this case will not require significant effort, and the design itself will look neat and compact. They are also good for those cranes that are close to each other.
The long handle is suitable for a faucet of any diameter, however, if they are close together, such a handle can get in the way.
Among the main advantages of a ball valve coupling:
- It requires no maintenance or repair.
- The faucet needs no lubrication.
- Can be installed in any position.
- Its handle is the safest in terms of injury. To fully close or open the faucet, turn it 90°.
- The brass coating has anti-corrosion properties.
If we consider its technical parameters, then such a valve can be used in a pipeline supplying hot water, non-aggressive liquids, cold water, steam (provided that its temperature does not exceed 150 degrees Celsius). The valve stem and ball are made of brass, as is the body. The design works flawlessly at a pressure of 1.6 MPa.
The advantages that a ball valve has are obvious. The simplicity of its design, ease of operation and safety of use explain the high popularity of this product (both in production and in residential buildings).
