So, what is needed to build a do-it-yourself dog bed? First of all, you should choose a dense natural fabric. Colors can be in harmony with the interior of the apartment or be matched to the color of the pet. In stores, it is easy to find the right fabric with a thematic pattern - with a print in the form of paws or images of animals. The main thing is that the canvas should be dense enough and not rubbed from active use. You will also need foam rubber about 3.5 cm thick. Sewing machine, thicka needle, a strong thread, a centimeter, scissors - all this will come in handy in making a do-it-yourself dog bed.

In order to determine what size the bed should be, you need to measure the dog when it lies on its side with its hind legs extended. If your pet is still a puppy, then consider the average size of an adult if you do not want to redo the bed as the dog grows. Beds for small dogs are preferable to make round or oval shapes, so they look best. For dogs of large breeds, rectangular, in the form of a sofa are recommended. Sewing process

We fill the cover with foam rubber and carefully sew it on the fourth side. As a filler, in addition to foam rubber, you can use another soft material, as long as it is harmless. For the side of the bed, we cut out a rectangle from the fabric so that its length corresponds to the length of the future side, and the width is equal to the width of the side, multiplied bytwo. Do not forget to make allowances on each side of 2-3 centimeters. We sew the side on three sides, turn it inside out and fill it with foam rubber. Then we sew the fourth side and carefully attach it to the main pillow.
