Now it is impossible to imagine any enterprise that does not have pallets in its warehouse - a special container designed for convenient transportation of heavy oversized cargo. Due to their versatility, these pallets are used in almost all industries and households. Thanks to them, you can quickly load the goods and quickly send them to their destination. But, in order for the cargo to arrive in a safe condition, it should be properly packed and loaded onto the surface of this shipping container. But today we will not talk about the correct packaging of goods, but consider the features of the most popular type of pallets on the Russian market, which is called the euro pallet. We will consider the dimensions, drawing and design of this container in the course of our today's article.
Material
Most often this transport device is made of wood. You can rarely find products fromplastic or metal. However, regardless of what material it is made of, the size of the euro pallet is the same. They have the same mounting method. The cargo placed on the surface of the pallet is additionally wrapped with a special shrink film or straps. The exception is the goods placed in the so-called "big bags" - plastic bags of huge sizes.
Capacity
It is worth noting that despite the lightness of the pallet itself (its weight does not exceed 10 kilograms), the weight of the cargo carried on it can reach 2-2.5 tons. How is this possible? And this is achieved due to the well-thought-out design of this container, in which there are wooden blocks and boards interconnected with 100-mm nails. It would seem that such a simple design should simply fall apart under a mass of several tons, but no: thanks to the correct placement of the checkers and the alternation of the width of the planks (they have unequal sizes), the euro pallet can safely transport loads weighing several thousand kilograms. That's what engineering is.
What is the size of a Euro pallet?
Do not confuse the euro pallet with its American counterpart, since both containers have completely different dimensions. The standard size of a euro pallet is 80x120 centimeters. At the same time, the “American” has dimensions of 100x100 centimeters. It is worth noting that this size of the euro pallet is not accidental. The fact is that it is this length and width of the containerallows you to place the cargo as compactly as possible on the platform of the semi-trailer. And now in more detail about this. A standard euro truck can hold up to 86 cubic meters of cargo.
At the same time, the dimensions of the semi-trailer are 13.6x2.45x2.65 meters (L / W / H, respectively). In such a truck, exactly 33 euro pallets can be placed, no more and no less. Moreover, they can be laid in two ways - along (3 pieces each) and across (respectively, 2 each). However, in any case, the distance from the walls of the body to the loaded container will be only a few millimeters.
