According to European standards, cold water is supposed to be supplied on the right, and hot on the left. In Soviet times, the reverse scheme was used, which is still found today (not only in old houses!). In this case, for European models, you will have to swap the eyeliners, which, in principle, is quite feasible.
Most often, mixers with a thermostat as a thermocouple have a sealed capsule containing artificial wax. Responding to temperature conditions, it regulates the ratio of hot and cold water. Recently, a thermoelement made of a bimetallic spring has become widespread. In this case, two different metals react to temperature fluctuations. When heated, the spring expands, and when cooled, it contracts. Thanks to this property, it is possible to obtain the desired proportions of cold and hot water. Sometimes bimetallic rings act as a thermoelement, working approximately on the same principle as a two-metal spring.
The thermostatic faucet can be built-inor external. The first type is the most interesting from an aesthetic point of view, because the installation can be made in a finished box in a niche. After that, you only need to bring all communications and close the cavity with a decorative panel. The built-in part itself of the same manufacturer has standard dimensions and is equipped with decorative overlays. As for the models of the external type, their design is very diverse, so you can easily choose the right option.
