The comfort of living in a country house or in an ordinary city apartment depends on the warmth of the room. Floor temperature plays a major role here. Floor insulation can be done independently. It is only necessary to choose the optimal material and insulation technology. It is necessary to look at the functional properties:
- Strength and thermal conductivity.
- Environmental safety and fire safety.
- Relatively light weight.
- Moisture resistant and durable.
- Speed of work.
Today, a wide range of domestic and foreign heaters is presented on the construction market. Consider several options.
Floor insulation: mineral wool and polystyrene foam
Insulation of a wooden floor is usually done with mineral wool or foam. These materials are well tolerated by mechanical stress, have thermal insulation. Warming a wooden floor begins with laying a waterproofing film. Then the optimal thickness of the insulation is selected depending on the thickness of the log. Insulation of the floor with foam occurs with small gaps, which thenfoamed with mounting foam. Mineral wool is laid in an even layer. On top of the cotton wool you need to lay a waterproofing film. It will protect you from fiberglass dust.
Insulation of the first floor floor with double flooring
This method is considered traditional. The floor is insulated with two layers. The first is mounted from boards, which are fastened with tongues to the beams. There should be no airspace here. The second layer is laminate, linoleum with insulation or even carpet. The advantage of this method is that such coatings are easy to maintain and have a high level of thermal insulation.
Fibreboard floor insulation
If the floor surface cannot be raised to a decent height, then fiberboard is suitable as a heater, which is a good heat insulator. On top of such a base, you can safely lay almost any topcoat. The exception will be ceramic tiles and thin linoleum.
Insulation of the floor of the first floor with expanded clay
Expanded clay insulation technology is one of the most affordable, but it should be carried out at the construction stage or during major repairs, since the expanded clay base thickens the subfloor.
Expanded clay is used as a bedding and additive in a concrete screed. A mesh is laid between the expanded clay and the screed, and microfiber is added to the concrete solution. This ensures strength: the surface will not crack.
Heated floors
New - warmfloors. This is a system that includes heating, connecting cables, temperature controller.
The floor is insulated with a heating cable, which is laid in the concrete floor and connected to the network. When plugged in, the floor heats up and radiates heat.
Installation begins with covering the base floor with a layer of heat-insulating material, on which aluminum foil is placed to reflect heat rays. The cable is carefully laid, the floor is poured with a small layer of concrete. Linoleum, parquet, tiles, carpet and other materials can be laid on top.
