Clinker tiles are a great option both for finishing the facade of a house and for the territory adjacent to it. It is very resistant to environmental influences, and, thanks to the efforts of numerous designers, it has a wonderful appearance. Of course, when working with clinker tiles, you cannot do without minimal skills and experience. And yet, everything is not so difficult that a non-professional could not cope with this work. The most important thing here is to follow the instructions exactly.
Before starting work, clean and level the surface as thoroughly as possible, which should be perfectly flat and smooth. If necessary, it can be washed, cleaning from the slightest contamination. If there are potholes and cracks, then they should be repaired first, otherwise over time they can cause the tile to fall off.
To do this, you can use any high-quality putty or mixture for plastering the surface. very important afterdrying of putty defects, the surface should be properly primed, since the primer allows many times to increase the adhesion of the material. This is especially important if clinker facade tiles are laid.
Carefully sort the available material. The problem is that, due to the characteristics of the raw materials, it is not uncommon to find specimens of different shades coming from the same batch. To avoid unpleasant effects, mix the tiles from several packs and lay them trially. After choosing the most suitable one, you can prepare a sand-cement mortar or a special tile mix for laying. After that, you can start working with clinker tiles.
If you are not a certified plasterer, it is better to prefer the ready mix. It is very important to follow the instructions printed on the packaging in detail. Do not stir the mixture by hand: the nozzle on the drill will give a much better effect. After the first kneading, leave the prepared mixture for 15-20 minutes, then mix thoroughly again.
Carefully and very evenly spread the finished mixture on the surface to be finished, then powder it with dry cement powder. After that, you can start laying tiles, which are sprinkled with water from time to time. Completely finished styling is covered with plastic wrap for several hours.
Please note that the adhesive properties of the finished mixture last no more than an hour, so it is better not to lay out more than one square meter of tiles at a time. In many ways, this property of the mixture depends on temperature and humidity as thesurface and the surrounding air. If you hesitated, and the solution starts to dry out, you will have to scrape it off, clean the surface again, and then start working with the clinker tiles again.
After laying and drying, we start shaping the seams. We do not recommend doing this immediately after laying the material. The thing is that only after a day the solution completely grabs the material to the surface. Otherwise, the clinker tiles, the price of which is not so small, may be damaged. Grout should be used only one that is ideally suited in color to the tile. To apply it, use a rubber spatula, as well as a grater made of the same material.
At the end of the work, you need to carefully clean the finished coating. We recommend using special cleaning products. In particular, "Powerfix" and "Helotil" have proven themselves well. Do not forget that when working with clinker tiles in this case, you need to protect your hands with thick latex gloves.
