Glowing paints based on phosphor (light-accumulative material) are an innovative product that allows you to simply work wonders. With their help, you can make unusually beautiful things, give them individuality and originality.
Phosphoric paint tends to glow on its own in the dark without any backlight. Its principle of operation lies in the fact that it is able to accumulate light energy, and then give it away in the dark for more than 8 hours.

The special formula of fluorescent spray paint allows you to get a special luminous ultra-bright color coatings. This spray paint is often used on various billboards, as well as shop windows, sports equipment, fire equipment. In addition, helmets, bicycles, toys, models, yachts, etc. are painted with it. Fluorescent spray paint can be used to paint metal, wood, paper, glass and plasticsurface.
Application of luminous paint in cans
It must be applied, like other paints in spray cans, only on a dry, fairly clean and fat-free surface. It is best to first apply a primer coat of white matte spray paint, and after it has dried, use a fluorescent spray. The balloon must first be shaken, and only then the coloring pigment should be distributed to the surface. It is recommended to protect the surrounding unpainted area from paint ingress by covering it, for example, with a film or masking tape. The balloon should be kept in an upright position at a distance of approximately 20-30 cm from the object to be painted. Shake it periodically while working. The waiting time between coats with this spray paint is 2 to 3 minutes.
How do-it-yourself phosphor paint is prepared
One composition is hard to get, the other is expensive to buy. Therefore, some prefer to make the paint on their own, which is much more profitable and convenient.
We suggest considering how to make phosphor paint on your own at home:
- First of all, you need to purchase a glow powder. It is a powdery substance that has a rather unusual ability - it turns the energy it receives into light. Accumulated during the day, for example, the sun's rays will provoke a phosphorescent glow in the dark. Getting it is not difficult.
- Next, the purchased powder must be diluted with varnish in a ratio of one to three and thoroughly mixed until smooth using a mixer. Lacquer is best to use acrylic. By its properties, it is more durable and, most importantly, completely harmless, even if applied to the body.
- The resulting phosphor paint is applied with a brush to the surface.
In case of lack of artistic abilities, you can use additional stencils. They will make it possible to draw an accurate drawing.
