One of the most effective and popular tile compositions for laying various types of tiles and porcelain tiles today is Ceresit CM11 glue, which is a dry mix. It is approved for use in conditions with intermittent or continuous exposure to water, and in temperatures ranging from -50 °C to +70 °C.

Scope of application
The purpose of Ceresit CM11 is to fix ceramic or stone tiles, the water absorption of which is at least 3%, and the size is notexceeds 40x40 cm, on various non-deformable substrates, namely: concrete, brick, cement plasters and screeds, both outside and inside buildings, including some types of rooms with constant high humidity.
It is also used for laying porcelain stoneware (only for interior work), which has a water absorption of at least 3%. This applies to unheated floors located in rooms with low mechanical loads in both residential and public buildings.
Additional features
The introduction of the SS 83 elasticizer into the adhesive mixture significantly expands the scope of the Ceresit CM11 adhesive. In this case, it is used for laying tiles of any level of water absorption and various types - ceramic, clinker, stone, and porcelain stoneware.
In addition, the bases and types of structures on which laying takes place can be:
- Fibreboard, OSB and gypsum boards related to deformable substrates;
- cellular, lightweight and "young" concrete;
- anhydride and gypsum surfaces;
- paintable acrylic coatings with strong adhesion to the surface;
- heated ties;
- facades, plinths and entrance groups of buildings;
- outdoor stairs, floors on outdoor terraces and balconies;
- operated roofs;
- covered tanks;
- indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
How to use glue?
The composition of the mixture that makes up the Ceresit CM11 tile adhesive includes cement,mineral fillers and polymer additives. This leads to the fact that the prepared composition after dilution can be used for two hours, and you can adjust the tiles no longer than 25 minutes after laying. Grouting is done 1 day (not earlier) after the installation process is completed.
You should also know that when laying tiles on Ceresit CM11 adhesive, the temperature of the air and the base is allowed within the range of +5 ° C to +30 ° C, and the ambient humidity should not exceed 80%.
Glue consumption
Before masonry work begins, it is advisable to know how all materials will be spent. And if the number of tiles can be calculated quite accurately, based on its size and the surface area on which it will be laid, then the situation with glue is a little more complicated.
So, Ceresit CM11 glue was chosen for laying the tiles. Its consumption can be different, due to factors such as the size of the tile itself, the height of the comb teeth, the quality of the base on which the tile is attached, and the professionalism of the laying master.
There are exact tables showing the consumption of glue (kg/sq.m.) based on all these parameters, both with and without the addition of CC 8 elasticizer.
The average consumption of the mixture is 2.95 kg/sq. m. And more specifically, on a standard tile measuring 25x25 cm with a comb tooth height of 8 mm, Ceresit CM11 tile adhesive is consumed in the amount of 3.5 kg / sq. m. m.
