In modern water supply systems, to avoid emergencies, special equipment is used. It is intended to protect pumping installations. Locking devices are such equipment. It is worth considering them using the example of a 1 inch check valve. It has found wide application in the installation of water pipes.
Check valve 1 inch
The valve is a special element of locking equipment that allows fluid to move through the pipes in one direction. When a backflow occurs, the constipation works and shuts off the water supply. The mechanism of such locking devices does not require an additional power source, the shutter is activated due to the forces of the reverse flow of the liquid.
1 inch check valve for pump as well as for turbine metering devices, serves as protection against water hammer phenomenon.
Device
The design of the 1 inch water check valve does not have complex components and consists of three main parts:
- the main working part is a locking valve made of plastic or metal, which is equipped with silicone or rubber seals;
- return spring, made of high quality stainless steel;
- directly to the body of the device.
Check valve housings provide additional protection to avoid the harmful effects of chemical compounds often found in water. Protection is applied galvanically. Also, in some cases, the check valve body is 1 inch, to simplify installation, they are equipped with a special tap to bleed air from the system, and also make a drain hole to drain excess fluid.
Working principle
The principle of operation is quite simple. In the normal state, the return spring is in a deformed state under the action of a direct flow of fluid in the pipeline. Moreover, the spring is designed for a certain pressure inside the pipe. When the flow weakens or stops, as well as the reverse movement of the water jet, the spring returns the constipation to its original position, thereby blocking the movement of the fluid flow.
Types of check valves
Check valves 1 inch, depending on the design of locking devices, are divided into four types.
- Locking devices made in the form of a ball of plastic or metal,called spherical. In them, the flow of fluid deflects the ball supported by the spring, during the reverse movement, the spring supports the hole with the ball, blocking the flow of water.
- Locking devices in the form of dampers are used in metal pipelines during the intake of water from a well or wells. They are insensitive to pollution, they call them rotary.
- In disc locking devices, the fluid pressure is regulated by a disc with a spring. They are used in metal-plastic pipelines.
- The most convenient repair is lifting constipation. In such valves, the shutter, pressed by a spring, moves strictly in a vertical plane, and the valve itself is installed only on straight horizontal sections. When dismantling, you must remove the top cover and replace with a new one.
Also, valves are divided into several types according to the method of attachment to pipes:
- wafer flanges connect the flanges of adjacent pipes with bolts, while the valves themselves do not have fasteners;
- flanged equipped with special gaskets, they are used on large pipelines;
- couplings with internal and external threads are used in water supply systems of small diameters;
- in pipelines with chemically aggressive environments, valves for welding are used, such connections are non-separable.
