One of the priorities in the arrangement of modern office space is the issue of ensuring the safety of personnel. Not so long ago, separate rooms in public buildings were delimited by wooden structures. Currently, they are gradually being replaced by special fireproof partitions. The latter are extremely attractive in appearance and can be made in accordance with the features of the interior.
Application
Fireproof partitions are mounted in rooms that need to delimit space with structures that can prevent the spread of fire between separate rooms in case of fire. Occasionally, similar flame suppression devices are installed in floor transitions and stairwells.
Fireproof partitions open up ample opportunities for a total, and most importantly, quick redevelopment of an object in accordance with generally accepted safety standards. delimitationspace with such structures allows you to create separate work areas, organize storage and technical rooms.
What does the installation of partitions give?
With the proper location of the fire partitions significantly reduce the rate of spread of an open flame. Specialized designs allow you to quickly localize the fire, which contributes to its elimination in the shortest possible time.
Fireproof partitions installed indoors significantly reduce the damage that a fire could cause in their absence. In addition, delimiting rooms with such structures reduces the overall level of smoke in the building. The latter factor allows for the safe evacuation of personnel without exposing people to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Installation requirements
In general premises, you can often see EI15 and EI45 fire barriers, with a fire resistance of 15 minutes and 30 minutes, respectively.
The type and class of partitions are determined in each case by the requirements of fire safety standards that are put forward to the building. Among the most significant factors that should be taken into account when selecting fire protection structures, it is worth highlighting the following:
- Indoor fire hazard level.
- Building material.
- Number of personnel permanently inside.
- Purpose of the room.
- Method and intensityfacility operation.
There are quite a few more similar factors to note, since the overall level of fire safety of structures is determined even by such seemingly unimportant points as the nature of the location of equipment and the placement of staff tables.
Materials of production
The following fire barrier options are currently available for installation:
- Glass - are in the highest demand on the market. Consists of a fire-resistant profile and transparent glass that can withstand exposure to an open flame for a certain time.
- Steel - manufactured using high-strength material with maximum refractoriness. They are mainly installed in technical rooms. Can be used as cladding for walls and ceilings.
- Aluminum - presented in the form of a refractory metal frame filled with gypsum content. They are used equally often in the arrangement of industrial and office premises, since the design features allow for quick adjustment to various interiors.
- Gypsum plasterboard - differ in budgetary cost and therefore act as the most affordable refractory material. The outer casing is presented in the form of a flame-resistant metal profile. Almost all types of GKL fireproof partitions are lightweight, which greatly simplifies the installation process.
Fireproof partitions of the 1st type of fire resistance
The structures in this plan include EI45 level panels, which are designed for indoor installation with walls made of non-combustible building materials. It is allowed to use fireproof partitions of the 1st type for the arrangement of objects in which an impressive number of people and personnel simultaneously reside. First of all, these are educational institutions, office, warehouse premises.
The use of sufficiently strong materials of manufacture contributes to the use of such structures for the construction of ordinary walls, which must be sufficiently resistant to burglary attempts.
A fireproof partition of the 1st type of fire resistance is made from materials that are easy to process and install: drywall, mineral fillers. As a rule, such panels are presented in the form of a frame sheathed with sheet materials with special impregnation with non-combustible substances. It is possible to fill the frame with heat-resistant double-glazed windows.
Fireproof partitions of the 2nd type of fire resistance
For zoning the internal space of premises, structures of the fire resistance level EI15 are often installed, which are able to withstand exposure to an open flame for more than 15 minutes.
Fireproof doors and windows, ventilation devices are easily built into partitions of the 2nd type. Such structures allow for the rapid arrangement of objects, changing the existing layout according topersonal needs in compliance with fire safety requirements.
