Everyone knows that tomatoes are consumed not only fresh, but also s alted or pickled. Therefore, varieties with small tomatoes are no less popular than large-fruited varieties of tomatoes. And if they are also tasty, then the variety quickly wins the love of gardeners. Tomato Pink Lyana is just such a variety.
Variety description
Tomato variety Pink Lyana was bred in 1996 in Transnistria, it is recommended mainly for the Central and East Siberian regions. It is grown almost throughout Russia, as well as in some neighboring countries.
Pink Lyana is a determinate tomato variety. What it is? Determinate plants do not grow too tall, their growth is limited, it stops when a flower cluster appears at the top.
Lyan's bush is also low (as a rule, up to 40 cm), with medium branching and many leaves. The color and size of the leaves are normal. The first inflorescence appears already at the fifth or sixth leaf, in total at least five brushes are formed. Despite the fact that the bushes are low, they must be tied up, as the stems are fragile and break easily.
The fruits themselves grow medium-sized (80 gr), round, reddish-pink. Fresh tomatoes taste great. Basically, the Pink Lyana tomato is grown for fresh consumption and for whole-fruit canning.
The variety is considered ultra-early with a good yield (about 3 kg of tomatoes from one bush). The skin of tomatoes is thin, but despite this they are well transported and stored.
This variety is resistant to most diseases, only susceptible to tobacco mosaic. Grows well both in greenhouses and outdoors.
Appearance
Tomato Pink Lyana is completely ordinary in appearance, and similar to many other varieties. Fruits of a classical rounded shape, absolutely regular and almost the same size. The color of the fruit is elegant, pink.
Low bushes with numerous tomatoes are also easily confused with other determinate varieties.
Pros and cons of the variety
The variety has many advantages, and the description of the tomato variety Liana Rozovaya confirms this.
Main benefits:
- The variety is unpretentious in care,
- Ripens early and bears fruit for a long time,
- Tastes great
- It has a high yield for an early variety,
- Long stored and well transported,
- Universal purpose of fruits,
- High disease resistance.
Disadvantagesvarieties:
- Prone to tobacco mosaic,
- High leafiness.
Features of growing varieties
There are practically no features of agricultural technology in this variety. Tomato Pink Lyana is a typical determinant variety with ultra-early ripening. As a rule, it is grown in open ground, but it is also possible to grow it in greenhouses. Due to its early ripeness, direct sowing of seeds into the ground is possible in the southern regions (the ripening time will increase here).
Landing
In the description of the Pink Lyana tomato, it was already said that the variety is early ripening, which means that seeds for seedlings do not need to be sown too early so that tomatoes do not start on the bushes even before transplanting into the ground. Seedlings are planted in the garden at the age of 45-50 days, when the threat of frost has passed. Under the film shelter can be planted when the earth warms up at least 14 degrees.
The variety itself is considered quite unpretentious, which means that growing seedlings is not a hassle. In any case, seed preparation will not be superfluous. Seed calibration will ensure friendly seedlings, and seed disinfection will help protect mature plants from diseases.
If the soil is prepared independently, then it also needs to be disinfected (pour with a weak solution of manganese). Purchased nutrient mixture is already ready for use. Pink Lyana loves loose soil, so it is better to mix peat and humus with soddy soil and wood ash.
Sowing seeds is carried out in boxes to a depth of about 2 cm,boxes are covered with glass. After the first shoots have appeared, the glass must be removed, and the temperature should be lowered slightly so that the seedlings do not stretch out.
After the formation of two true leaves, the seedlings swoop down into looser boxes. After this, the seedlings need to be provided with good illumination and infrequent watering. A week before planting in the ground, seedlings need to be hardened off - taken out to fresh air and the frequency of watering should be reduced. Seedlings are considered good if they are not too tall, but with a strong stem.
Pink Lyana loves well-lit and closed areas from the northern winds, as well as loose and permeable soils. The optimal planting option is 4-6 plants per 1 sq.m. Seedlings are planted, as a rule, without deepening, but with the possibility of subsequent garter, that is, pegs up to half a meter high will be needed.
Care
Reviews of Pink Lyana tomato confirm that the variety requires little to no care. Like any other tomatoes, they need to be weeded and loosened in time, watered as needed, sometimes fed and protected from pests and diseases. Frequent watering is not recommended, but the soil should not dry out.
The first feeding is best done 2-3 weeks after planting the seedlings in the ground. Subsequent plantings are carried out at the same time, alternating organic and mineral fertilizers. Nitrogen fertilizers should be avoided before fruit ripening.
Lyana Rosovaya responds well to foliar feeding, especially only whenstarts to bloom. For this, solutions with boric acid are used, i.e., the complex fertilizer is dissolved according to the instructions, 1 g of boric acid is added per 10 liters, and the bushes are sprayed with this. This top dressing improves flowering and ovary.
If you want to get an earlier harvest, the bushes need to stepchild, forming a bush in 2-3 stems. If pinching is not carried out, then the crop will be obtained later, but in larger quantities. As the fruits grow and ripen, you need to cut off excess foliage so that the tomato plants are illuminated by the sun.
Against diseases and pests, pink Liana is often not treated at all, but preventive spraying is still desirable. For this, "soft" means are suitable, for example, "Fitosporin" or "Trichodermin".
