To build a solid, reliable building that can stand for not one or two decades, but at least 100 years, one cannot do without the appropriate building material - brick. Unfortunately, not all manufacturers produce bricks that, in terms of strength indicators, meet all the requirements for it. Because of this, after a few years of operation, the first serious cracks appear on buildings made of such material.
But the same cannot be said about the Stary Oskol brick. How is it different from similar products from other manufacturers?
Production Features
The brick factory in Stary Oskol started producing bricks for facing purposes in 1989. Three years later, thanks to the excellent characteristics of ceramic products, builders began to consider this material as one of the best, and this situation has not changed to this day. Moreover, they were the first in the country to start producing products of different colors. First, red products came out, then (2006)straw and ivory. A year later, the collection was replenished with mocha-colored building materials. Today, products in dark brown and light shades are already classics.
In order to achieve high quality and compliance with GOST, the production of bricks at all stages is carried out strictly according to technological requirements and from natural materials - sand, a mixture of clays and other types of raw materials.
Product Benefits
It is better to understand how high-quality the Starooskol facing brick is, information about its merits and positive characteristics will help.
These are:
- Product quality. There are no chips, cracks on the products, they do not crumble and, most importantly, they are the same in size.
- Environmental safety. For the manufacture, only natural materials are used, which during the operation of the buildings will not emit toxic substances dangerous to people and nature.
- Resistant to atmospheric and weather influences. The integrity of the brick will not be disturbed by temperature changes, precipitation, winds or any other weather disasters.
- Long service time. The manufacturer guarantees a minimum service life of its building material up to 100 years. But this is on condition that no maintenance will be carried out for the structure, otherwise this period is increased by 50%.
- Strength. Products designed for facing works are capable of withstanding a load of 250-300 kg per sq./cm of area.
Choicematerial
The plant produces several types of products that differ in different indicators:
- Face brick. Products of this type are characterized by a regular shape, clear corners and a very even side surface.
- Shaped products. Unlike the previous view, they do not have 4 right angles. Stary Oskol brick of shaped type has only two or three right angles, and the other sides have a rounded or atypical shape. Thanks to this, complex geometric patterns can be laid out on the surface.
Fireplace brick. It differs from facial products by the presence of relief patterns on one of the faces. You can use fireplace-type products not only to create hearths inside the house, but also to decorate the outer walls in order to enliven the facade, make it unique, not like others
What type of material to purchase depends only on the taste of the owner of the future structure.
Types of products
The products of the plant differ not only in the outer coating and shape, but also in the type of material used for manufacturing:
- Ceramic. This name is given to red brick, which tolerates all climatic conditions well, is characterized by high strength and low moisture absorption - up to a maximum of 8%.
- Clinker bricks differ from ceramic bricks by using a higher temperature, so that the products acquire high strength and their structure is uniform.
Silicate brick in terms of heat resistance and moisture resistance is inferior to previous analogues, which is why its area of use is more limited. For cladding, silicate products are used much less frequently than ceramic and clinker
All about flaws
Like any other material, Stary Oskol brick has certain disadvantages. These include, for example, the need to equip a vapor barrier when facing a wooden house. Wood is permeable, but brick is not. And if you do not separate them, the steam let through by the wall will remain inside and cause the wood to rot.
Another drawback is the lack of one-color products. This is not a marriage, because it is a consequence of technological features, but it is a problem. Example: there was not enough purchased goods, and it became necessary to purchase several packs. There is no guarantee that they will be the same shade as the one already purchased. Conclusion: it is better to buy a little more building materials, and then there will be no problems.

Another disadvantage that Stary Oskol brick has is the price. It is higher than for similar products from other manufacturers. But if we take into account the highest quality of products and their other advantages, it becomes clear that such products cannot be cheap, and the money spent will pay off with a beautiful view of the structures and their long service life.
