The skills of knitting knots in the fire and rescue business are given quite a lot of attention. And it's understandable why. After all, both one's own and someone else's life sometimes depends on the quickly and correctly executed type of knot. There are many types of different knots, but only four types of knots are usually used among firefighters. Numerous workouts are devoted to knitting them, there are special exercises for a novice firefighter aimed at self-rescue and saving other people's lives with a rope.
Types of fire units
There are several main types of nodes, each of which is used in a particular situation. Also, the use of a particular node depends on the given fire brigade. Let's take a look at some of them.
The command "Fix the rope!" (indicating the place of fixing) means that the firefighter should use one of the four knots intended for this:fire knot, bowline, figure eight or bayonet with a hose.
- The fire (first) knot allows you to unfasten the rope after descent by pulling on the short edge.
- The bowline and figure eight are more durable.
- A bayonet with a hose is used mainly when it is necessary to fasten the rope to the structure after it has been tensioned.
Fire brigades and use of fire units
Team "On the rescue rope down!" means that the firefighter needs to fasten the rope to the structure with the first or second knot and, holding on to it, carefully and without jerking down from the window. Such training should begin no higher than from the second floor of the building, gradually rising up. You need to go down, pushing off the wall with your feet and carefully bypassing the window openings.
Team "To rescue the victim on the external stationary stairs march!" carried out by two firefighters. One insures the victim with a rescue loop, the second takes him down and removes the rescue rope from him.
Command "Tie a double rescue loop!" It is used in the case when it is necessary to lower the victim who is unconscious. One loop fixes the legs of the victim, and the second is fixed around the waist. This method allows you to firmly fix the victim.
Team "Untie the lifeline!" means that you need to do the reverse of the previous command.
Team "Rescue rope unwind!" means that it is necessary to drop the rope in the indicatedplace, securing it first to the structure.
Conclusion
As we can see, the life of many people, including himself and his colleagues, depends on the ability of a fireman to quickly and correctly tie the necessary knot. That is why during training and various trainings, such close attention is paid to knitting knots and the results are asked so hard.
