An employee from among the management staff is appointed responsible for fire safety in the organization. In order to receive this appointment, you must work in the organization for at least 3 years. The appointed responsible person must be approved by order of the head of the enterprise.
The future fire safety officer is undergoing appropriate training. The training period is about 72 hours. During the training, this person needs not only to actually learn about what fire safety is, but also, for example, to master first aid methods, to learn regulations governing labor protection, safe production methods and other useful information.
After training and appointment, the fire safety officer can begin to perform his duties. They include: conducting briefings for employees of the enterprise, monitoring that managers and employees pass on timeappropriate certification.
In addition, this person conducts other similar activities related to such an important issue as safety, security and labor protection. The first thing to do after the appointment order is signed is to check the availability of fire safety certificates and their terms for all engineering and technical workers. Then you can start checking the fire-technical minimum of such employees as locksmiths, gas cutters, that is, all those who are engaged in work related to fire.
Of course, the person in charge needs to know a lot about what fire safety is. According to law number 69 (21.12.94), the term "fire safety" is interpreted as the state of protection of a citizen, society as a whole and property from fires. Let's analyze what another term - "safety state" includes.
Responsible for fire safety should be aware of what fire is and what is the degree of its danger in various situations. For example, you need to have an idea of what a "fire triangle" is. This term refers to conditions that can lead to a fire. The first "face" of the fire triangle is the presence of a combustible substance. The second is the ignition source. The third is the presence of an oxidizing agent (usually oxygen). In the event that at least one of the "faces" is eliminated, the fire will not occur.
Therefore, the fire safety officerundertakes such an obligation as regulating the storage of combustible substances in the premises and on the territory of the enterprise. In addition, he must periodically check the serviceability of fire alarms and automatic fire extinguishing systems.
As for the safety of the people themselves, as mentioned above, this person conducts activities such as fire safety briefings, fire-fighting propaganda, ensures that employees do not violate the requirements during work and rules in this regard.
Of course, all the above actions and activities must be carried out in a complex, because all aspects of such a concept as fire safety are closely related to each other.
