The simplest jet engine is a valveless pulsating unit. After his invention, it became obvious that he could move a rocket even in a vacuum. Due to the fact that turbojet engines began to be used everywhere, the development of the type of propulsion in question was suspended. But many amateurs continue to be interested, study and even assemble the unit on their own. Let's try to make a jet engine with our own hands.

The device can be built of any size, if the necessary proportions are strictly observed. A do-it-yourself jet engine will not have moving parts. It is capable of operating on any type of fuel, if a device is provided for its evaporation before entering the combustion chamber. However, the start is made on gas, since this type of fuel is much more convenient than others. It’s easy to build a structure, and it won’t take much money. But you have to be prepared forthe jet engine will work with great noise.

The evaporative atomizer for liquid fuel is also installed with his own hands. It is placed at the end of a metal pipe through which propane enters the combustion chamber. However, if you plan to use only gas, then this device is not necessary to install. You can simply run propane through a 4 mm diameter tube. It is attached to the combustion chamber with a ten millimeter fitting. Sometimes they also provide different pipes for propane, kerosene and diesel fuel.

At the start, gas enters the combustion chamber, and when the first spark occurs, the engine starts. Cylinders are easy to get today. Convenient is, for example, having eleven kilograms of fuel. If a large flow is expected, the reducer will not provide the necessary flow. Therefore, in such cases, a simple needle valve is installed. In this case, the balloon must not be completely emptied. Then there will be no ignition in the tube.

To install a spark plug, a special hole must be provided in the combustion chamber. It can be made with a lathe. The body is made of stainless steel.

Reinst Pulsing Jet Engine Parts Needed

It is not necessary to use metal pipes and other details that are difficult for a simple layman. If it is supposed to make a jet engine with your own hands in a very small size, the following improvised components will be required for its manufacture:

  • four hundred milliliter glass jar;
  • can of condensed milk tin, from which only the side part is required;
  • alcohol or acetone;
  • compass;
  • scissors;
  • dremel or regular awl;
  • pliers;
  • pencil;
  • paper.

A twelve millimeter hole is made in the lid of a glass jar.

To make a diffuser on paper, draw a template using a compass. The near radius is taken at 6, and the far one - at 10.5 centimeters. From the sector that turned out, measure 6 cm. Trimming is done at the near radius.

The template is applied to the tin, circled and cut out the desired piece. Both edges are bent by a millimeter at the resulting part. Next, make a cone and connect the parts of the bent edges. This is how you get a diffuser.

Then four holes are drilled on its narrow half. The same is repeated on the lid around the hole made earlier. Using a wire, hang the diffuser under the hole in the cover. You should get a distance to the top edge of about 5 to 5 mm.

It remains only to pour alcohol or acetone into the jar half a centimeter from the bottom, close the jar and light the alcohol with a match.

Soviet literature for jet aircraft models

Miniature pulse jet engines for model aircraft can also be made by yourself. Some hobbyists even today usewhen installing the motor structure, literature written in the Soviet era, in the sixties of the last century. Despite such a significant period of time since its publication, it continues to be relevant and can help young designers learn new knowledge and gain practice.
