In order for the premises of the house to look neat and attractive, all the lines and communication systems necessary for comfortable living are usually laid inside the walls. For the installation of electrical networks, water and heating pipes, long channels - strobes - are pre-punched in the latter. In this case, special tools are used, for example, a grinder. At the final stage, after laying the line, the strobe is sealed. Of course, this procedure should be carried out correctly. Otherwise, the walls will subsequently look sloppy.

What strobes can be used for

Most often, the channels in the walls are hollowed out during electrical wiring. Water pipes and boiler lines are usually allowed outside. This provides easy access if they need to be repaired. However, sometimes such lines are laid inside the walls.

Chasing for communication systems can be done in any building material: concrete, brick, foam blocks. In cobbled or log houses, wiring is usually allowed outside. After all, the material is flammable. Chasing in thisthe case is mainly produced under sockets only.

Gouge technology

Actually, the very procedure for making a channel for electrical wiring or pipes is technologically simple. However, the work is usually laborious and dirty. Before chasing, it is recommended to cover all furniture and floors with a cloth, film or paper. There is usually a lot of dust during the making of the channel. It is recommended that the master performing the chasing wear a respirator.

A grinder is usually used as a tool when laying a canal. Also, craftsmen often use a special device - a wall chaser. Beforehand, two parallel grooves are cut in the wall, the distance between which should be equal to the required channel width. Further, the material of the wall between the slots is simply knocked out with a perforator.

After laying the wiring or pipes, they begin to seal the gates. This operation is also performed using special tools.

The cost of chasing and embedding

Very often, the owners of houses and apartments install hidden wiring or pipes on their own. However, sometimes it is more expedient to hire specialists for this purpose. It is worth working on making a channel for wires or heating lines relatively inexpensively. The same applies to the closure of the strobe. The price for such work in the complex depends on the width of the channel and its length. One linear meter of a strobe 20x20 mm, for example, costs about 150 r, 60x60 mm - 300 r, 100x100 mm - 700 r.

That's about the cost and shouldnavigate, deciding to entrust the specialists with such an operation as the execution and termination of the strobe. The estimate in this case is most often compiled without taking into account the material of the walls. And in concrete, and in the foam block, and in brick, strobes are cut through and sealed using the same technology.

What tools and materials will be needed

Thus, the prices for grooving (and punching) are relatively low. But doing this work yourself, of course, will be even cheaper. In concrete, foam blocks and bricks, strobes are most often sealed with cement. But if you wish, you can also use putty, rotband, etc. for this purpose. Sometimes the channels are also closed with the help of alabaster. However, experienced craftsmen advise using this material only as a last resort. The fact is that alabaster, when dried, can significantly increase in volume. As a result, the walls of the channel can be simply destroyed.

Strobes for sockets in wood are usually corrected with a special mixture consisting of sawdust and PVA glue or paint.

The following are used as tools for channel termination:

  • spatula;
  • bucket and scoop;
  • perforator.

How to close a channel in concrete or brick

In such walls, the strobe is most often sealed using cement mortar. Prepare it on the basis of coarse sand in a ratio of 1: 3. You can also buy a ready-made cement mixture designed for laying walls or pouring foundations. Dry building composition is poured into a bucket and pouredwater. The amount of the latter is calculated based on the fact that the finished mixture should have a sufficiently thick consistency. You can check the correctness of the preparation of the solution with a simple trowel. They need to pick up some of the mixture and turn it over. The finished solution should not fall down.

For plasticity, you can add a little lime to the mixture. Actually, the very embedding of the strobe in the wall is done with a spatula. A little mixture is collected on this tool, and then applied to the strobe, trying to fill the latter without voids. Each portion of the solution is carefully leveled on the surface of the wall, moving the spatula along the channel and across it.

After the solution has dried (after about a day), the surface of the sealed channel is cleaned with coarse sandpaper. Next, the area is further leveled with a finishing putty. At the next stage, you can proceed, in fact, to the decoration of the walls.

The procedure for using putty will be exactly the same. The mixture is first diluted with water, according to the manufacturer's instructions. Further, with its help, the strobe is carefully sealed. Finishing material in this case can not be used.

Socket socket in wooden wall

This is how the strobe is sealed in concrete or brick walls. The price per meter of work in this case, as already mentioned, is relatively low. Installation of hidden wiring in a wooden house is a much more complicated and expensive operation.

Wires in a chopped or cobbled house can only be pulled openway. That is, they cannot be hidden in the walls. That's what the safety regulations say. In this case, they hide the wires in special ways (for example, passing them through the floors).

grooving in the wall

Hidden installation of a socket in a wooden wall is possible only in one case. Its installation must be carried out according to a special technology that ensures safety. First, a nest is made in a log or bursa. Then a thick metal socket is inserted into it. Next, channels are drilled for metal tubes for wiring.

Sealing the strobe with the help of any compositions is not required in this case. A recessed socket usually looks quite aesthetically pleasing on its own. However, sometimes it happens that ugly gaps remain around the socket. In this case, you can correct the situation with the help of a special compound prepared using sawdust.

Recommendations: how to prepare wood putty

It is not difficult to make such a putty yourself. To do this, you need to prepare small sawdust (you can take the same ones that remained after gating) and PVA glue. Epoxy can also be used as a binder. If desired, of course, you can also purchase a ready-made correction mixture for wood in the store.

Putty is prepared for chopped or block walls by simply mixing sawdust and glue. The finished composition should have the consistency of sour cream. When preparing putty, glue must be poured into sawdust, and not vice versa.
