If you have ever done repairs, you probably know that many operations during its implementation are quite laborious. Take, for example, the ceiling. Painting it is another task, the quality of which depends not only on the appearance of the room, but also on its functionality.
In most cases, a person who came to someone's house, first of all, the ceiling and wallpaper are striking. And if most of us approach the choice of wallpaper extremely scrupulously and responsibly, then in most cases they do not attach much importance to the condition of the ceiling. It is believed that with its repair you can wait. As usual, such an attitude does not lead to anything good, as a result, huge sums have to be spent on repairs. But the costs could be much less if you immediately repaired the ceiling. Painting is an easy, convenient and cheap way to do it! As a result, the ceiling coating will be quite elastic, easy to clean and does not require frequent updating. For such work, water-based paint is chosen. Forget the bad practicewhen a musty water-based emulsion is used for painting, which has been lying in a closet for several years! Especially when you are renovating a bathroom, which certainly requires painting the ceiling. The price of paint, even the highest quality, is not so high. If you decide to save money, you will only make it worse - you will have to redo your work again and again.
How to prepare the ceiling for painting? Before starting work, the surface is cleaned of the old coating. All irregularities are cleaned with sandpaper, and cracks and potholes are repaired and rubbed with putty. Then the prepared ceiling is cleaned of dust and must be primed. The primer requires time to dry completely (usually at least a day). If dark spots appear on the surface of the ceiling after all the preparatory work, then they must be painted over with the paint chosen for the finish.
For an even painting of the ceiling surface, the moment of choosing a tool is important. The roller should have a long and even pile of high-quality synthetic or natural fibers. As already mentioned, the choice of paint also matters for a good ceiling finish.
The highest quality paints are acrylic, which has a latex base, and silicone paints. Less suitable for this purpose is silicate paint, which falls worse on the ceiling. Painting should begin only after you have carefully prepared the materials. The paint must be completely homogeneous, and for mixing it is recommended to usespecial mixer or drill attachment.
How to start painting the ceiling? Everything is very simple. It is necessary to thoroughly moisten the roller in the paint and quickly roll out the coloring composition as evenly as possible on the previously prepared surface. Distribute it evenly, avoiding the formation of smudges and sagging! Then your ceiling, which is quite difficult to paint, will once again become a real decoration of your home!
