Wedge scaffolding is a special design based on steel pipes for general use, which has locks with a self-braking element and quick fixation - wedges. They have acquired a sound vocation that has expanded their use in construction with technical properties and design characteristics that allow unlimited use under any conditions. Compared to other types of temporary structures, these scaffolds are more load-bearing, more stable and can be quickly disassembled and reassembled.
Features of use
It is rational to use scaffolding for various assembly and construction works: the formation of concert frame sites, roof filing, building insulation, decorating and painting walls, erecting buildings made of wood, stone, concrete and bricks.
On one square meter, steel pipes, together with flooring, can withstand 500 kg. Also, wedge scaffolding is used as a multifunctional tool for the formation of working platforms at the required height.
Additional features include the ability to assemble the supporting formwork by connecting horizontal and vertical components, securing them with a reliable locking mechanism that prevents unauthorized separation. Loaded parts can be connected at the desired angles and in various planes, which makes it possible to implement the most complex project. This can be realized through a locking mechanism that allows you to reach the maximum height. At the same time, there are no restrictions when installing the structure itself.
Installers do not have to make significant efforts, have experience and specific knowledge to install the formwork. During operation, additional investments are not required, and it does not take much time to carry out the work. Wedge scaffolds are designed to comply with established safety regulations for construction work.
Main structural elements
The following parts of creating a precast formwork are basic parts:
- vertical post is the core of the whole structure, it bears the surface load and is about 2-3mm thick;
- the crossbar is used for fixing on horizontal posts when forming supports for laying flooring, due to this the scaffolding is reinforced for working with bricks,stone and other heavy building materials;
- horizontal rack that allows you to connect and hold vertical elements from bending;
- shoe acts as a support for the upright;
- starting part is a vertical with flanges mounted on a jack and connected to similar elements to start work;
- diagonal - binder to ensure structural strength;
- jack is made in the form of a thrust bearing, has a screw device for adjusting the height of fixing with the vertical;
- metal ladder with lintels mounted for free movement;
- flooring allows you to place and carry cargo, made of wood, steel or a combination of them;
- anchor bracket secures the wedge scaffolding to the wall along its entire height;
- hinged console is installed vertically to expand the area for work;
- stabilizing support is a wall structure that protects the facade from possible collapse.
Types of forests
There are various types of scaffolding on the market from many manufacturers that have a wedge base structure. LSK-100 and LSK-50 are considered the most popular. In terms of the content of the elements, they are identical, the difference lies in the thickness of the vertical racks, as well as in the general configuration, thanks to which it is possible to mount the wedge scaffolding to the appropriate marking height.
Benefits
Among the positive aspects, it is worth noting the following:
- Reliable and durable device. Wedge scaffolding has a high-quality connection of all parts (there is no possibility of spontaneous separation of the lock and the wedge) and increased load carrying capacity (the design can withstand the total weight of materials for work, construction tools and equipment).
- Versatility. They are used for the construction of various objects with any complexity and configuration.
- Simplified disassembly and assembly of wedge scaffolding. Installation tools require a hammer to drive in and pull out the wedge from the flanged locks.
Safe operation
Full use of scaffolding is possible only after the installation is fully completed. A technical engineer and a safety specialist issue a written operating permit after checking the finished design.
The responsibilities of the reviewing technical commission include the following aspects for clarification:
- presence of protective fencing on scaffolding;
- quality of attachment to the support;
- reliability of node connection;
- corresponding level of structural elements on a rigid platform.
Before starting operation, the master checks the condition of all parts. If snow, ice or debris is found on them, construction work will not begin until the wedge scaffolds are cleared. The design passport contains the values of the permissible load on the decks, while their strict observance is important.
Material feed
When transporting materials using a tower crane, it is prohibited to lift loads near the scaffolding in order to avoid damage to the elements, as well as turn the crane arrow while it is moving at the same time. If it is not possible to transfer passages from under the scaffolding, then protective canopies are mounted above them to increase safety. Stationary hoists for supplying materials and tools must be attached to the building itself.
It is worth noting that lifting loads with a tower crane must be under the supervision of a worker who gives the crane operator signs to change movement.
