Assembling a shower cabin is not the hardest thing to do. It is much more important here to first determine the type of structure that needs to be assembled. - The lowest pallets are called flat, and their design requires a special installation scheme, but at the same time they are the most compact.
- Pallets with medium depth are considered universal.
In addition, they differ in the material from which they are made. The most commonly used products are acrylic, but it is quite possible to find cast iron, steel and ceramic pallets.
What you need for assembly
In order to successfully assemble a shower enclosure, of course, you will need the right tools.
- you will need screwdrivers of all types, as well as a gas wrench;
- electric drill and metal drills with a diameter of 3 and 6 mm;
- flexible plumbing hoses;
- siphon and silicone sealant;
- if a low pallet is used, thenyou will need mounting foam, approximately 2-3 standard bottles.
The instruction for assembling the shower cabin includes several successive steps. It is worth noting here that it is imperative to carry out markup on each of them in order to ensure the geometric accuracy of the location of all the necessary elements.
Another important step is to check the evenness of the floor. If it is uneven at the installation site of the booth, then this must be corrected. Installation should only be carried out on a leveled surface.
Working with a pallet
The whole process of work begins with the installation of this particular element. It can be mounted on a frame or without it. The whole installation process depends on it.
Deep trays are installed on the metal frame. A metal frame will act as a supporting structure. Depending on the project, it can be connected either crosswise or in parallel.
To assemble the shower tray, follow these steps:
- There are special holes on the pallet, into which the studs are screwed all the way.
- On each of them it is necessary to screw two nuts. One should be fixed at the very bottom, and the second approximately in the middle.
- The frame support must be put on the stud with nuts so that the metal plate is on top.
- Special attention should be paid to the central hairpin. It is mounted in the middle of the structure, and a washer, a lock nut, and alsoextra nut.
- Next, the fixing beams of the structure must be fixed on the wooden beams. Self-tapping screws are usually used for fixing, and the wooden bars themselves are initially mounted in the fiberglass pallet.
- All fasteners that are still left are tightened, and one more nut is screwed onto the studs to fix the structure on both sides.
- Brackets are placed under the legs, which will serve as a support.
- After that, the finished pallet can be placed in its place of installation. The main thing is to check its position with a level.
Organization of the drain
If up to this point the siphon has not yet been mounted, then it is now that you need to install it. After it is connected to the pallet, it is necessary to check the tightness of this joint. To do this, you need to twist everything and pour water, if there is a leak, then it will become immediately visible. If a leak still appears, then you will need to add a little sealant to the assembly of the shower cabin with your own hands. The last thing to do is check the slope and length of the drain hose. The optimal slope is considered to be: 2 cm per meter of length.
Installation of doors and walls
It is worth noting that if the work has already reached this stage, then all the main difficulties are behind. Despite the fact that the material and shape of these parts can be completely different, the installation process always begins with the wall on which the automation will be mounted. It is also worth adding that all elements installed at this stage must besealed with sealant. However, this should be done only after all the elements have been installed in the draft version. Until then, the masters recommend not fully tightening the fasteners so that they can be adjusted if necessary. Assembling a 90x90 cm shower enclosure, for example, involves the following steps at this stage:
- Before installing the glass, it is necessary to coat all the grooves of the guides with sealant.
- All racks are attached to the arch. Self-tapping screws are used for this.
- Glass inserts must be fitted with rubber seals before installation to prevent water from getting out.
- The lower guides must also be lubricated with sealant, as well as the upper ones.
- Glasses are being installed.
- Small self-tapping screws and washers should be used to secure the side panels.
- All joints must also be treated with sealant.
- The electrical equipment should also be checked.
- Completely finished and assembled structure is left to allow time for the sealant to dry.
Roof installation and some installation features
The installation of the roof is carried out without any problems, as the structure is almost ready. The roof is installed on top of it, and fastened with hardware.
You also need to know some of the nuances. The process of assembling a closed type shower enclosure is different in that elements such as walls, racks, doors and roof are attached to each other.
