That is why, when installing heating and water supply systems, many experts try to minimize the number of pipes, and, accordingly, their connections.
Types of manifold cabinets
People who professionally install plumbing and heating systems know that regardless of the type of pipes and the type of their connections, it is necessary to ensure free access to the entire system. For this purpose, a collector cabinet is used. The wiring diagram in it allows you to provide the ability to connect any consumer in the house to water supply and heating through their individual pipes. As a rule, there are no connections in the section from the collector to the consumer, or their number is minimal. The best option is when there isonly 2 connections: pipe-collector and pipe-consumer. This device connects the entire system in one place.
The manifold cabinet can be located in the riser shaft. Its wiring allows specialists to quickly and selectively shut off the supply of hot or cold water to a certain apartment without the need to turn off all other residents. In the case when the manifold cabinet performs the function of supplying water through separate pipes, it is enough to turn the shut-off valve to completely turn off. It is technically difficult to install this equipment in old houses, and it is also costly, since a complete reconstruction of the plumbing and heating system will take a lot of time, materials and funds. Most often, collectors are installed in new buildings.

Recently, more and more people arrange underfloor heating in their homes. In this case, the collector cabinet will be located in the room itself. It will hide the entire heating system. At the same time, the design of the cabinet allows you to place in it all the metering devices for hot and cold water. It also installs all shut-off valves and the necessary electrical equipment.

Different companies produce a wide range of products that differ from each other in shape and size. Many of them offer consumers a built-in and outdoor manifold cabinet (wall-mounted). The former are in high demand because theyunobtrusive, do not spoil the general appearance of the room, easy to use. An outdoor (wall-mounted) collector cabinet needs additional space, so it is most often not installed in ordinary apartments. It can have special holes in the back panel and retractable legs, with which it is attached to the floor and wall. When installing this equipment, it is necessary not only to carefully install, but also to choose the right place for it.
Wall cabinets are painted white with powder paint, while built-in cabinets are decorated only with a removable (front) panel. High-quality locks are installed on the doors to prevent unauthorized access to the collector system.
