Polyurethane adhesive is a substance with many advantages. The main one is its versatility. It can be used for bonding stones, surfaces made of glass, metal, wood, ceramics, polyurethane and polystyrene, as well as a number of other materials. This is due to the high adhesion of this composition to all these types of materials. Polyurethane acts as a binder here, which is clear from the name.

Connecting surfaces with it guarantees resistance to chemicals, temperature extremes, various aggressive environmental influences, high temperatures and moisture. Such a connection can be operated in a fairly wide temperature range from -60 to +120 degrees Celsius. In addition, polyurethane adhesive provides a strong connection, is resistant to such phenomena, like mold and disease-causing fungi. The foaming property allows you to make sure that the space between the surfaces to be glued is completely filled with it. The absence of solvents and odor ensures maximum safety during operation.

There are two-component and one-component polyurethane adhesive. The second option is easy to use and more convenient to work with. It contains prepolymers of isocyanates. Due to the high viscosity of the product, excellent initial tack is ensured. The interaction of isocyanates with atmospheric moisture leads to a chemical reaction. Its result is the formation of cross-molecular bonds, due to which the connection becomes as strong as possible.

Two-component polyurethane adhesive contains a pair of components that, when unmixed, are characterized by low viscosity. Only after mechanical mixing, isocyanate hardener and polyol are combined, as a result of which the working state of the adhesive is achieved. It is necessary to mix the components with careful observance of certain technological conditions, that is, the required proportions, length of time, and temperature. With the right approach to the procedure, the interaction of the components occurs. Compliance with all conditions leads to the fact that the strength characteristics of the connection through polyurethane adhesive become incredibly high.

A polyurethane-based adhesive can be a great help when laying parquet flooring. For Russian operating conditions, it is recommended to use two-component formulations that do not contain solvents or water. Such compositions are able to withstand almost any operational load, so it is advisable to use them for laying a board or an array. Polyurethane adhesive can be applied to almost all types of substrates, without the need for pre-priming. Removing the rest of the system is quite simple. Polyurethane adhesive guarantees high shear strength.
