Economical heating and minimizing heat loss are the two main headaches for residents of cottages and private houses in the winter. So it was before, when a warm floor in a wooden house was created using carpet, polystyrene foam, warm linoleum and mineral wool. Although these materials contributed to maintaining the required temperature regime, they had a number of disadvantages. But progress does not stand still, and now residents of private houses are increasingly resorting to the use of “warm floor” technology.

It is quite easy to install a warm floor in a wooden house. Installation can be carried out directly on the subfloor or on logs. Connecting a warm floor will be absolutely safe for wood, which allows you to nullify the risk of accidental fire. To date, there are 2 types of “warm floor”: with a modular type system and with a rack type system. Let's take a closer look at these systems to find out which warm floor is best used in a wooden house.

Systems of both types have a water principle of operation, based on heating and circulating water through pipes, which are the main componentsdesigns. The modular system uses module elements made of chipboard and having a thickness of 22 mm. Chipboard sheets have channel pipes and plates through which water circulates. In the rack system, the principle is almost the same, only the plates and tubes are installed between strips of chipboard sheets, the thickness of which is about 28 mm. The whole system has a rigid fixation, which allows the plates and tubes to withstand acceptable vibration and remain in a fixed position.

How to install a warm floor in a wooden house? Both systems have the same installation principle. First you need to get rid of the old flooring and the rough layer. Further along the entire perimeter of the room, a support is nailed, which is usually a wooden beam of solid thickness. Logs are installed in increments of about 0.6 meters, and a “warm floor” is installed. During the installation process, a chipboard board will act as a subfloor, on which plates and tubes are fixed. In order for the chipboard board to fit snugly to the base, it is necessary to put a polyethylene layer between them, which will play a kind of “pillow” role.

After the completion of the installation work, a layer of laminate is laid or a parquet board is laid. You can also lay out a layer of ceramic tiles, but then it will be necessary to build a gypsum fiber board ceiling, which will act as a protective shield and protect the coating from deformation heating, evenly distribute the load and the generated heat over the entire floor surface.

Of coursea warm floor in a wooden house is not cheap, but it is better to pay once, and your floor will always be warm at any time you need. As for which of the two underfloor heating systems to choose, in terms of safety and thermal performance, they are almost equal.

With the “warm floor” system, only you will correct the weather in the house, and not some natural factors.
