Before you start installing fence posts, you need to prepare the appropriate building materials and tools: scrap, garden drill, building level, hydraulic level, twine, roofing material, cement, sand, water, gravel and a container for stirring the solution.

Concreting fence posts starts by marking out a site for drilling holes in the ground using a garden drill (if you have a gas drill, this will make the task very easy). To do this, you need to determine the location of the first pillar. There you need to drive a wooden peg and stretch the twine to the place of the last pillar. So it turns out the marking of the entire fence. When drilling, you should adhere to the line so that the fence is even. Next, you need to mark the place where the concreting of the pillars under the fence will be made. Between them you need to make a different distance, depending on the selected material. Posts for chain-link mesh are installed at a distance of 3 m, for a wooden fence or corrugated fence - 2.5 m. If you make the distance between them more than 3 m, this can lead to lag sagging.
Drilling holes and concreting fence posts
In order to know at what depth to drill, a marker is made on the auger of the drill so that the distance is 100-110 cm from the ground. You need to hold the drill vertically so that the pit is even and does not go to the side. Further, when they drilled to the mark, in order to prevent contact of the solution with the ground, a piece of roofing material rolled into a roll is laid in the pit. Let's move on to the installation. On a pole from the top, a distance of 150 cm is marked and lowered to this mark. If necessary, the hole must be deepened or poured so that the distance is maintained. Then broken brick or gravel is poured there and rammed with crowbar. The main thing is not to fill it completely and leave a distance of about 15-20 cm to the top for the cement mortar. The initial stage of concreting the fence posts is completed. The last pillar must be set according to the first, for this they use a hydraulic level.
Concreting fence posts: pros and cons
There is an opinion that concrete pillars "squeeze" out of the soil over time. This can only happen if they were concreted to a depth of less than a meter. But if they are dug deeper, nothing will happen to them. One of the main advantages is that concrete pillars do not rot in the ground, unlike those that are driven into the ground and are not protected by a layer of concrete. Even a well primed and painted tree driven into the ground is not immune to decay. If the pillars are not concreted, but hammered, the fenceit will turn out “walking”, since there is no way to set it according to the level. If you level a clogged post, it will only loosen, and then you will need to think about the reliability of such a design. The mechanized method is better in terms of workmanship, because such concreting of fence posts, the price of which will immediately increase, makes them stronger and more even. It is worth thinking about the fact that it is better to do everything right right away and not worry about it for several years. Also, from the aesthetic side, a concrete pole is better, because a driven one will be deformed from above.
