Varieties of fittings
Installation of furniture hinges begins with the correct selection of elements. Such a need may arise when the furniture is made to order, but the owner himself already does the assembly. Regardless of the type of loop, it will have the required components:
- cup;
- mounting plate;
- "shoulder".
As for the types of loops, there are four of them:
Overhead loops can be found everywhere, they are also called "frogs". The opening angle of such a loop is 90-165 degrees
2. Semi-overlay buttonholes have a curve at the base.
3. Corner hinges make it possible to open the door at an angle from 30 to 175 degrees.
4. The inner loops feature a curved shape.

As noted above, furniture fittings have 4 types of hinges, each with its own purpose:

Installation of furniture hinges begins with the preparation of the necessary tool. For this job you will need the following kit:
- set of loops;
- ruler or building level for marking;
- simple pencil;
- drill and screwdriver;
- end mill with a diameter of 3.5 cm;
- screws.

Calculate the number of elements
Do-it-yourself furniture hinge installation begins with marking. At this stage, accuracy is very important, otherwise the product will not have a neat appearance. The first step is to measurethe height of the sashes with which you have to work. The installation of furniture hinges, the dimensions of which should be selected according to the dimensions of the furniture, comes with the calculation of one piece for every 0.5 m of the door height. However, if the shutters are less than a meter in size, at least two hinges must be hung in order for the product to look even.
In the process of purchasing accessories, you should also think about the load that will be placed on the hinges, that is, calculate how often the doors of the headset will open and close. For kitchen furniture, for example, you can purchase fittings with closers.
Markup process
The center of the hinge hole should be 7-12 cm from the top or bottom edge of the door. To the side edge, the distance should be 2.1-2.2 cm. Do not forget about the possibility of installing shelves. They must not be on the hinge, otherwise the cabinet doors will not be able to close.
Using a ruler, measure 7-12 cm from the upper and lower ends, the resulting points are fixed with a pencil. On the formed line, a distance of approximately 2.1-2.2 cm is measured to the inner edge of the door, after which marks are also made. The result should be two currents in which one vertical and two horizontal lines intersect. These marks serve as the center of the hole into which the loop cup will be inserted. It is recommended to highlight them with a nail, just digging a little indentation.
Remember that for every 50 cm one such hole must be made, that is, fordoors longer than a meter need to count more blanks.
Installation of fittings
Installation of furniture overhead hinges is as follows:
1. Using a drill with a cutter, a hole is drilled for the loop cup. For this, marks were previously made with a nail. In order for the work to be done as accurately as possible, it is recommended to place the door on a solid horizontal base and fix it there. The cutter must have a strictly perpendicular direction with respect to the plane of the sash. Hurry in this process is fatal, since the depth of the hole must strictly correspond to the size of the loop cup, approximately 1.2-1.3 cm. To make your work easier, before taking on the drill, you need to sharpen the cutter well.
2. Further, fittings are inserted into the holes obtained. The main requirement at this stage is a perpendicular relationship with the end of the sash. Otherwise, the product will look crooked. For maximum accuracy, a building level is used. The hinge is fixed to the door with self-tapping screws.
3. The final moment is the installation of the sash on the furniture itself. If the headset element has not so large dimensions, then you can lay it on its side, and on the side to which it is planned to screw the door. The screw attachment points are carefully measured, after which they are twisted. To adjust the evenness of the door, the hinges are tightened or loosened.
