Now more and more attention is paid to the preservation of heat in homes. This is especially true for areas where winters are cold. To protect your home and keep the heat inside, it is better to think through all the ways in advance. Thermal insulation of the facade occupies a special place in this list, because up to 40% of heat can escape through the walls. Even if you installed windows with double-glazed windows, but did not insulate the walls, it is unlikely that you will get a high temperature in the room. This is especially noticeable in corner apartments, where there are more street walls.

You can protect the walls from the inside or outside. Internal protection has its advantages. It is easier to perform, since there is free access to the walls. But the thermal insulation of the facade from the inside also has its drawbacks. First of all, it reduces the area of the room. In addition, the dew point, that is, the place where warm and cold temperatures meet, is indoors, which means dampness and mold may appear. And this is a completely undesirable option for a living space.

It is more difficult to insulate building facades from the outside, but it has its advantages. There are several façade insulation systems. The use of plaster solves two problems at oncetasks, allows you to insulate and make the exterior wall decoration. When using a light plaster system, a fiberglass mesh is used for rigidity, since the thickness of the plaster layer does not exceed 9 mm. This method can be applied to walls made of any material. But it is not very suitable for areas with low temperatures.

If the layer of plaster reaches 40 mm, then they speak of a heavy method of plaster thermal insulation. But here special fasteners are needed to fix such a layer. For heat, you can use any heater. Thermal insulation of the facade with the use of plaster allows you to even out any irregularities in the wall and even give it a beautiful appearance. This can be solved in color by simply painting the wall, or creating a relief structure using special tools.

Besides wet methods, there are other options. The façade thermal insulation system using ventilated technology assumes an air gap between the outer cladding and the wall. This is a more time-consuming method, but it has found its use due to the ability to give the facade an elegant look. Insulation may consist of one or two different layers. The dew point is located between the exterior finish and the wall, which means that there is no contact with cold air indoors.

It is also possible to insulate the facade using layered masonry. In this case, the wall is three-layered. First, a brick wall is erected, then insulation is laid andraise the second wall. Sometimes a different material is used instead of brick for the inner surface.

Any of the thermal insulation options allows you to insulate the walls of the house, keeping the maximum heat in the apartment. If you are starting to build your home, it is best to consider options that are more suitable for your area in advance. If you got a cold apartment, then try to insulate it in some accessible way. When buying a new home, pay attention to how the walls are built, what methods of thermal insulation the construction company uses.
