Most modern sewing machines are equipped with this little device, the automatic needle threader. Working principle
So, how to use a sewing machine needle threader? Look closely and you will notice that it is supported by a tiny hook-like mechanism. The needle threader picks up the thread and loops back.
Raise the needle to its highest position. Once it is in the right position, you need to make a small loop by winding the thread around the knee holder on the needle threader. Press the lever for the needle threader at the same time. The hook guides the thread, and the lever lowers it and allows you to move forward.
After the device "met" the needle,guide the thread into the small indentation on the hook so that the thread can be hooked. If you hold the end of the thread, you will feel it catch on the hook. Release the lever. The loop went through the eye of the needle. Now just pull on the end of this loop. The thread has passed into the eye, the needle is threaded and ready to go! The needle threader is not working properly. What to do?
The needle and the needle threader hook must match perfectly. If for some reason this does not happen, the system will not work properly. Most common reasons:
- If the needle is not set correctly or is not raised all the way, the automatic threading system will not work. Make sure the needle is securely and correctly installed. If it is not tight enough and the top of the needle is not fully secured in the holder, the eye will be in the wrong position.
- Problems due to size mismatch of needles and threads. When using thick thread with a small needle, either thread the needle by hand or use a larger needle.
