Wasps, along with flies and mosquitoes, can cause infections, including intestinal ones. In addition, after a wasp sting, an allergic reaction is possible, in some cases leading to death.
If this year you have already found wasp nests on your site, then do not hesitate: next year they will settle in you again. With the advent of May, scout wasps begin to look for suitable places, visiting first of all where the nests were before. How to deal with annoying and dangerous insects?
Not all wasp remedies offered to us in stores and markets are effective and will give the expected results. Baits, for example, contain an attractant (attractive substance). Of course, having “treated” with such a drug, the wasps die. But insects will flock to the bait not only from your site, but also from adjacent ones.
If you are building a house or decide to overhaul, do not forget about preventive treatment: cover (blow with foam) all the recesses and cracks that you could choosewasps.
Be sure to remove all old nests, otherwise, having destroyed one family of insects, you will be forced to fight another one that has taken its place in the near future.
Very important is not only the sequence of actions (the destruction of the wasps, and then the destruction of their nests), but also the time. This should be done only in the evening, when uninvited guests flock to spend the night. In the daytime, wasp nests are almost empty, so there is no point in processing them. And their removal in the absence of the owners is fraught with consequences. Wasps are very vengeful, so when they find a destroyed shelter, they can arrange attacks on people.
What remedies for wasps have proven themselves best? As a rule, these are aerosols and microencapsulated. Fixed Assets (FA):
1. "Troapsil" (Netherlands) - destroys synanthropic insects, including wasps. Quite powerful and fast-acting, with a slight smell, quickly weathered, economical. Sold as a concentrate. The treatment solution is prepared from a liter of water and 35 ml of the drug.
2. Moskitol is highly effective. Toxic. Recommended for processing non-residential premises on the street (open verandas, pipes, attics, cellars, sheds).
3. "GETT" - means from wasps, in which the emphasis is on microencapsulation. All insects are destroyed. Exceptional safety for people and animals. No smell. Long-term (up to a year) action. Performance guaranteed on all surfaces.
Production of resistance (immunity) is minimal. The action of "GETT" is based on the transmissionmicrocapsules between individuals, therefore, the destruction of the entire population (family) is guaranteed. Wasps die in a day.
There are other, "home" remedies for wasps. Consider some of them:
- Craftsmen thought of catching wasps in ordinary plastic bottles (a remedy for wasps in the country). Having cut off the neck in the “shoulders” area, turn the bottle over and, after pouring sweet sour compote into it, insert the cut part upside down.
- Spray windows, curtains and doors with vinegar. The effect, unfortunately, is short-lived.
- "Home bait" - made from the remains of a sweet melon: the crusts are sprayed with insecticides ("Intavir", "Sherpa") and laid out in places where wasps accumulate.
- Pouring nests with boiling water.
- Polyethylene sealing. It is best to use a tight bag that is put on the nest, then pressed against the wall and glued with tape (a stapler, buttons will do). After that, the corner of the bag is cut, insecticide is sprayed inside and the hole closes again. After an hour, the package can be removed (the wasps will die) and tear off the nest.
