Stairs on bowstrings and stringers are of several types:
- Attached. The simplest design. It can be made by hand. It consists of two beams and steps located between them. The ladder is used in suburban areas, in private homes. - Folding, attic. The staircase has several sections. Their number depends on the required length of the structure. The bowstring folds several times. The ladder is safer than the side ladder. Folding systems have disadvantages: they cannot withstand a lot of weight, you need to hold on when going up and down, usually such stairs are steep. - Marching. The most common (classic) type of stairs. Consist of two parallel guides holding steps forming a march. Balusters and railings are mounted on bowstrings. The design is strong, reliable, but heavy and bulky, suitable for large rooms.
- Screw. The most unusual staircase. Looks impressive, takes up a minimum of free space. Kosour or bowstring is located on the outside. Such stairs are produced in factories. It is impossible to make it yourself, you need special equipment to create bent and twisted forms.
