Fire safety of any facility is difficult to ensure without portable fire extinguishers. Such products are installed in offices, apartments, shops, in public and private vehicles. Naturally, these devices must be fixed in a convenient and accessible place. The fire extinguisher bracket is a special device designed not only for the proper storage of manual fire extinguishing equipment, but also for their prompt use in case of fire.

Varieties of brackets

According to the purpose and location, fire extinguisher mounting brackets are divided into two main types:

  • indoor products;
  • devices for fixing fire extinguishing equipment on vehicles.

Products for installation in rooms for various purposes are mainly floor and wall. It is much rarer to find special fixtures for fixing to pipelines or round metal construction parts of buildings.

In terms of their design and appearance, fire extinguishers, regardless of overall dimensions and filler (carbon dioxide, powder or air-foam mixture), are quite similar and have a shapestretched cylinder. Fixing devices for fixing them are developed taking into account the weight and diameter of a particular model. The materials used to make these products are metal, durable plastic and rubber.

Device and location requirements

All fire extinguisher brackets (regardless of design features and purpose) must meet a number of general requirements:

  • be strong and reliable;
  • they must be equipped in such a way that it is possible to quickly remove the fire extinguisher;
  • the bracket must be able to withstand a load significantly greater than the weight of the attached product;
  • it is unacceptable for fasteners to cover instructions for use;
  • The mounting design should prevent the fire extinguisher from falling when the locking lock is opened.

Important! The location of the fire extinguisher bracket must be easily accessible. It is strictly forbidden to clutter up approaches to it.

Wall fixtures

To install indoors for various purposes, wall-mounted brackets for fire extinguishers are most widely used. The main advantages of such products are:

  • easy installation;
  • the ability to be located in the most accessible and well-viewed places, without creating unnecessary interference with the daily use of the premises.

By design, such brackets for a fire extinguisher are produced in two main varieties:

with bottom support bar (round or rectangular) and one or two metal, plastic or rubber fixing straps;

For fire extinguishers with a special metal mounting loop, use a simple L-bracket.

Car Mounts

A specific type of device designed for attaching fire extinguishing equipment is an automobile fire extinguisher bracket. The main requirements for products in this category are:

  • reliability of fixing the fire extinguisher in conditions of high vibration;
  • availability of technological elements that facilitate mounting on any vehicle;
  • arrangement of products with quick-release locking locks (metal or plastic).

The design features of fire extinguishers designed specifically for vehicles allow them to be mounted both in a horizontal and vertical position. For passenger cars, the preferred location for the extinguishing agent is in the lower part of the driver's or front passenger's seat.

Important! Storing a fire extinguisher in the trunk of a car significantly reduces the efficiency of its use. To operate the deviceextinguishing fire, you will have to go around the vehicle, open the trunk and get a fire extinguisher. Such a waste of time is simply unacceptable in an emergency.

Public transport usually has at least two devices, one of which should be near the driver, the other closer to the middle of the cabin.

Initial emergency response

When a fire is detected (no matter where you are: in your apartment, office or industrial premises), the first thing you need to do:

  • Get a grip, calm down and don't panic.
  • Call 01 or 112 and give the exact address, briefly describe the situation, and press the emergency button if it is in your field of vision.
  • If a small object is on fire (for example, a wastebasket or a chair that has caught fire from a dropped cigarette), try to put out the fire using a manual fire-fighting “assistant” (at home and at work, you must remember the location of its location always).
  • If the attempt was unsuccessful, urgently take measures for the safe evacuation of loved ones and people who need help (primarily children and the disabled). Plans for such events are posted in all public places in prominent places.

Important! It is strictly forbidden to use elevators in such cases, as emergency services will first turn off the electricity to safely and effectively extinguish the fire.
