Leveling walls is not such a difficult process. After studying the materials of this article, you will be able to level and prepare the walls with your own hands for their further puttying, painting and any kind of finishing.

Alignment of the walls along the lighthouses is carried out after preliminary surface preparation. It is necessary to dismantle the old coating (wallpaper, etc.) and clean the wall of dust, then without fail prime the surface. When choosing a primer, it should be noted that it is better to apply quartz primer to concrete surfaces. Since it gives concrete walls a certain roughness, which gives a positive result when applying plaster. Walls made of bricks, aerated concrete, etc. primed with ordinary soil. Alignment of the walls is also carried out using a plaster mesh.

The use of mesh is necessary if the plaster layer exceeds a thickness of 50 mm, or if the wall is made of gas silicate block or aerated concrete. Leveling the walls in the bathroom also involves the use of plaster mesh, in case the wall is sheathed with drywall, on which it is planned to lay tilestiles.

Installation of metal beacons (beacon profile) is carried out using a plaster mortar in a vertical position. We pre-cut the lighthouse profile to the height of the walls of the room, as it is produced with a length of three meters.

To complete the installation of metal beacons, you will need a plumb line, a rule and a level. First of all, you need to install extreme beacons. Why do we retreat ten centimeters from the corner and apply several bumps of plaster mortar (a distance of more than 40 cm), after which we install a beacon profile on these bumps. We press the profile to the wall, starting from the central attachment point. Using the level, we check the position of the beacon vertically. Do the same on the other side of the wall. Aligning the walls using beacon profiles also provides for the installation of intermediate beacons with a distance of 1-1.5 m between them. Having selected three points (top, bottom, center), we fix the dowels and pull the cord so that it is flush with the beacon profile. All other beacon profiles are installed on this cord. Before proceeding with the plastering of the walls, it is necessary to wait a certain time for the solution on which the beacon profile is fixed to solidify.

Before preparing the plaster, be sure to read the instructions for its preparation, which is on the package. The plaster is applied either with a spatula or with a trowel from the bottom up. The alignment of the walls, as a rule, is carried out in sections of 50 cm. By applying the rule to the lighthouses and leading itfrom bottom to top, remove excess plaster, thereby making the wall perfectly flat. After the plaster mortar has more or less hardened (it is strong, but still fresh), the beacons can be dismantled. Often, this is done after a couple of hours, but only if you use a gypsum mixture. When using a cement mixture, it will be better to do this the next day. Upon completion of the dismantling of the lighthouse profiles, it is necessary to wait for some time for the wall to dry completely, after which the lighthouse strobes can be repaired.
