Often, when redeveloping an apartment, it becomes necessary to move the interior walls. Relatively recently, the need for such repairs alone could terrify a person, since only brick or foam block was used to build walls.
But the construction industry is constantly evolving, so now we have the opportunity to make do with cheaper and easier-to-use materials.
For example, you can take drywall and some drywall profile. It is light, cheap, and walls made of this material can be built in just a few hours of not too hard work. The walls will not only be erected as soon as possible, but will also be perfectly straight. That is why when carrying out redevelopment of an apartment or a house, it is best to pay attention to drywall. The second argument in favor of this choice is the flexibility of the material itself: using different types of drywall profiles, you can create design compositions of almost any kind. In other words, if you know how to deal withtools, you can get to work.
To get started, just measure the room to get accurate data on the amount of material you need, purchase the drywall itself, self-tapping screws, a drywall profile stock and the tools you do not have. There is no need to be greedy: it is better to take 10% more materials and consumables than the calculations required.
First of all, you need to mount a stable frame on which your entire wall will be built. Attach the profiles carefully to the floor and ceiling. It is this stage of work that should be taken as responsibly as possible, since poor fastening will inevitably lead to big problems over time. First, the vertical racks are well fixed, to which the crossbars are attached. The step between them must exactly match the size of the sheets of material.
It often happens that instead of a normal metal profile for drywall, ordinary wood is used. We strongly advise against saving money in this way: in conditions of high or insufficient humidity, the tree may well change its configuration and “go”, which will lead to the expected results. It is better to save on the fact that you will do all the work yourself, without calling expensive hired specialists for this.
Assume you are done with the wireframe. Using self-tapping screws, begin to fasten the material. Once again we remind you that the drywall profile, the dimensions of which are selected strictlyindividually, must be securely fastened as much as possible. Initially, only one side is attached. All communications, cables and other equipment, which otherwise will spoil the view, are laid in the inter-wall space. Then send soundproofing materials and, if necessary, thermal insulation to the "sandwich".
After that, you can start finishing work. The joints between the sheets of material must be carefully glued with tape, and only then primed and glued wallpaper. By the way, if you are going to glue them, you should repair the smallest surface defects.
As you can see, using a drywall profile can make life a lot easier when renovating.
