Good light in the corridor and hallway is not an excess, but a really necessary condition, at least in order to carefully tidy yourself up before meeting the outside world.
Even better, if this creates a special atmosphere in the room that promotes a positive mood. As a rule, hallway and corridor spaces in our homes are deprived of natural light. They rarely have windows and are mostly designed to keep the sun out of neighboring rooms.
There is only one way out - artificial light in the corridor, but it will become its source "Ilyich's light bulb" or a luxurious sconce that harmoniously fits into the overall design, it's up to you.
Some tricks will not only bring a ray of light into this "dark realm", but also decorate the monotonous walls, and even visually correct the unsuccessful shape of the space. It is better to think over the design of the corridor in Khrushchev in light cold colors - this will visually expand the walls. An excellent solution would be a built-in wardrobe, equipped with its own lighting at the top. This additional stream of light, reflected from the top of the cabinet surface and partly from the walls and ceiling, will illusory dissolve them. But the usual lamps with straight downward beams of light will make an already cramped hallway with a low ceiling even smaller.
Light in the hallway, carefully thought out and properly selected, can work wonders. Today you can buy wall and built-in lamps, halogen bulbs, spotlights with the ability to adjust the angle of rotation, which allows you to give the flow of light a certain direction. Diffusion lamps are recommended to be placed in the center of the hallway ceiling.
The design of a long corridor is an interesting task, it provides great opportunities for experiments with lighting. There are many options: if this space, in addition to a decent length, also has a sufficient width, then you can turn part of it into a mini-living room, providing it with a pair of compact chairs, a picture, a shelf with books and a telephone.
If the corridor boasts only length, it makes sense to arrange a kind of gallery in it or decorate the free space with stylish accessories.
Miniature paintings or portraits of famous people, hung at the same distance and complemented by appropriate lighting, will give the corridor a special style, adding a touch of elegance. And an exclusive sconce in itself will become a beautiful element of decor. However, it is worth knowing that the closer the wall lamp tosurface, the more its lighting "raises" the texture of the wall, revealing flaws.
There are a couple of secrets to enjoying good lighting without fear of high energy bills.
For example, if the corridor is long and illuminated by several spotlights, a good solution would be to install two switches, with which you can turn on the light at the beginning of the movement and turn it off at the end.
It is very convenient to install special automation in the hallway, which allows you not to think about saving electricity at all - a smart device will turn on the light in the corridor by itself, reacting to your presence, and turn it off after a specified time. The switch with a rheostat will help to adjust the brightness of the lighting. With it, you can arrange a bright meeting for guests, and, if necessary, create a special atmosphere of mystery and comfort in your home.
