The most relaxing place is the rest room in the bathhouse. The interior design should be especially well thought out in order to visually delight and soothe the eye, and functionally allow you to truly relax.
Required dressing room attributes
The project of a bathhouse with a relaxation room includes traditional components, and the first is a resting place. After you have steamed, you need to sit down or lie down, as the pressure in the body jumps significantly. A completely horizontal position is contraindicated, because most sun loungers and benches have a bent base. Traditionally, a Russian banya is a place of rest for a company, so the front room is often furnished with a table and necessary elements for a snack. The last thing we do when leaving the bathhouse is rinse with cool water, therefore the ideal design of a bathhouse with a relaxation room involves a pool or, in extreme cases, a shower cabin.
Required components of the dressing room:
- a place to relax: benches, armchairs, chairs or sunbeds;
- table and cabinets;
- shower or pool,washbasin.

Materials
In order for the temperature in the room to maintain the required indicator, it is thermally insulated. The best material for wall upholstery in this case is wood. The classic interior design involves finishing with rough softwood. The cheapest material is pine. In order for the bath to serve you for more than one year, you need to take care of the condition of the interior walls. Wood must first be impregnated with a special mixture, and then varnished, but only in the dressing room. For these purposes, choose heat-resistant materials with the lowest toxicity rates, since one of the hottest and stuffiest places is the rest room in the bath. The interior design of the second option resembles the design of foreign saunas, as the wood is chosen to be smooth, the panels are symmetrical and even. In general, this style corresponds to eco-friendly minimalism and creates a feeling of luxury if the room is decorated correctly.
Even the furniture in the bath is traditionally made of wood, but for it it is better to choose hardwoods because of their strength. Do not abuse textiles: moisture spoils the upholstery of chairs.

If it includes voluminous sunbeds and tables, it is better to lay the spaceat least 12 square meters. The first rule: the furniture for the rest room should be comfortable and very practical. The priority is more natural materials: wood, linen capes and the like. Doctors do not recommend immediately lying down in a horizontal position after the steam room, so the dressing room is usually furnished with comfortable wooden benches and deck chairs.
A typical attribute of a rest room is a table and chairs or armchairs. We do not recommend furnishing the room with upholstered furniture: steam penetrates into the dressing room. To give solid furniture comfort, use special pillows and textile capes, which can be easily taken out and dried separately from the headset itself. If space does not allow for a full table, equip the room with stepped benches where you can sit and lay out the dishes.
Features of space arrangement
As a rule, the largest part of the room is the rest room in the bathhouse. Interior design 3x3 is a classic for most suburban projects, when a building is built specifically for this purpose. 9 square meters can become quite spacious if the room is properly furnished. Most projects involve a circular arrangement of furniture: a table and chairs are located in the center (if space permits), and a bench or sun loungers are located along the perimeter of the walls. If the space is really about 10 square meters, it's hard to put a pool in it. An alternative is to equip the room with a small shower or washbasin.
The most important thing is to properly insulate the walls with hydro and thermal insulation. When calculating the free space for room equipment, do not forget to take into account this indicator. Wall insulation takes up a lot of space. The last tip is functional shelving, bedside tables and hangers where you can put clothes, towels, hygiene items and bath accessories: a hat and a broom.
Lighting
The most peaceful place is the rest room in the bathhouse. Interior design should match this. Properly tuned lighting can make the body completely relax and recover from the heat. The priority is a lot of not too bright LED bulbs that do not strain your eyesight and create a soft and even light. The ceiling, completely dotted with them, creates a feeling of warmth and looks like a starry sky. LED lamps themselves have a long service life and consume a small amount of energy. If you connect them in several lines to separate switches, then you can play with the atmosphere with the help of lighting, adding it to friendly gatherings and reducing it on a romantic evening. Tip: To create an entourage, just add a few wall lights or sconces.
Colours
Wood of any species and shades - this will look best with a rest room in a bathhouse. The interior design assumes, first of all, gentle, natural and calm shades. The classic combination is brown, green and sand. This range allows you to give any room the spirit of the same Russianbaths”, with steam, vodka and brooms. If we talk about European solutions, then burgundy color of wine is often added to rest rooms, it plays great in the twilight and emphasizes the structure of wood. The red gamma dilutes the sand shades, adds gloss and luxury to the room.
But the traditional color for relaxation is green. It is the least irritating to the retina, allowing you to relax in the best possible way. An alternative is blue shades that organically fit into a bath or sauna, especially if the room is equipped with a shower or a pool.
Sauna or Russian bath?
A sauna with a relaxation room and a terrace is essentially the same sauna, only furnished in a rustic style. In the sauna, a steamed back is hardly unfastened with a broom. Bath accessories - that's the main difference. A fully equipped room with timber all around, classic benches and even semi-circular beams can also be called a sauna if it includes a pool and a steam room. But traditional brooms hung around the perimeters will help create the right atmosphere. Another difference is the mini-bar and table, which are rare in a European sauna. The main thing is to correctly place all the components in a small space, and if possible, equip the room with a pool, even a small one, just to take a dip and gradually move away from the red-hot room.
Interior design
Fulla room upholstered with wood in our view is a bathhouse, a rest room. Finishing additional areas may be different, but only natural materials are always preferred, including stone. It is worth starting the arrangement of your bath at the design level in order to calculate the free space and properly dispose of it after the room is isolated.
Pay attention to the main attributes: benches, table, shower or pool, washstand. Pay special attention to the little things: the color of the walls, the location of the lighting. Don't forget about comfort: equip walls and corners with convenient lockers and hangers, make all textiles replaceable.
