City apartments are supplied with hot water through centralized pipelines. Owners of private houses have to use special equipment when installing the hot water system. For example, it can be a double-circuit boiler. Such devices simultaneously heat water for the heating network and for supply to consumers. However, double-circuit boilers are rather expensive and difficult to maintain equipment. Therefore, most often, the owners of country houses still use boilers to heat the water supplied to the kitchen and shower room. The main features of such equipment are not too high cost and ease of installation.

What is an indirect heating boiler

These models are the most popular among the owners of country private houses. Indirect heating boilers in low-rise residential buildings are mounted in combination with inexpensive single-circuit boilers. Their peculiarity is that they do not have their own heating element. Inside these boilersthere is a coil through which the hot coolant circulates from the heating system of the house. Due to this, in the tank of devices of this type, water is heated for the water supply network. That is, the design of such equipment is extremely simple.

Of course, for the uninterrupted supply of hot water in homes, indirect heating boilers must be connected correctly. The connection diagram during the execution of such work must be followed exactly. This will make the operation of this type of equipment convenient and safe in the future.

Types of indirect heating boilers

At the moment, two main types of such equipment can be used in private homes: with built-in control and without it. Boilers of the first type in their design have a built-in temperature sensor. The supply of hot water from the heating system to such a coil turns on / off automatically. Such boilers are used in combination with boilers that do not have a control system. Installation of devices of this type is nothing complicated. When installed to the appropriate outlets of such a boiler, you just need to connect the supply and return lines of the heating system, as well as the pipes of the water supply network. Then you can fill the tank.

The second type of device is used in private homes simultaneously with boilers equipped with a control system. Installation of this type of equipment is somewhat more complicated.

Use in combination with an automated unit: features

Exactly such a schemeconnecting an indirect heating boiler to a boiler in private homes is most often used. In this case, before tying, a temperature sensor is installed on the device through the hole in its body. Then it is connected to the desired boiler outlet. It is allowed to connect boilers to the heating units of the heating system of any kind: gas, solid fuel, electric.

Of course, the temperature of water heating in such devices never exceeds the t of the coolant in the house network. After all, it is to such parameters that the coil will heat up in the boiler. In most cases, the temperature of the water in the tank of such equipment is about 5 ° C lower than in the mains of the heating system.

Indirect heating boiler connection: basic wiring diagrams

There are only two principles for tying such devices with boilers:

  • with hot water heating priority;
  • without him.

In the first case, the entire heating medium of the heating system is driven through the coil of the device. Heating in this case takes very little time. When using the second technique, only part of the coolant is sent to the boiler coil. In this case, the heating of water in the tank takes a long time.

Most often in private homes, however, the technology of connecting boilers with the priority of heating hot water is used. This allows you to make life in a country house more comfortable. In this case, the water heats up faster, at the work of the heating system itself there is an insertthe boiler has almost no effect. However, when using such a scheme, it is important to correctly select both types of equipment. When using this technique, the boiler should have a greater productivity than the boiler (by about 25-30%).

What other equipment can be used

In addition to the temperature sensor, homeowners who decide to install a boiler should purchase:

  • expansion tank;
  • cut-off ball valves;
  • three-way valve;
  • check valves.

The expansion tank is usually installed in close proximity to the boiler. It should be selected so that its volume is approximately 10% of the capacity of the indirect heating device itself.

Shut-off ball valves in the boiler piping are necessary so that homeowners can turn off, for example, a three-way valve or a circulation pump at any time and repair or replace them.

Check valves are usually installed on supply pipes. These elements will subsequently prevent the occurrence of backflow, which will make the operation of the boiler as convenient as possible.

The three-way valve in the boiler piping is used in conjunction with a temperature sensor. When information is received from the last about the decrease in water t below the set value, this element is triggered and redirects the coolant from the heating system to the coil of the indirect heating device.

Connection technology for a boiler with a pump step by step

In such networks, piping of boilersindirect heating is usually done as follows:

  • behind the circulation pump, a three-way valve cuts into the supply pipe;
  • a temperature sensor is screwed onto the boiler sleeve;
  • one of the outlets of the three-way valve is connected to the inlet pipe (from the heating system) of the boiler;
  • tee crashes into the return line;
  • the coolant outlet from the boiler coil is connected to the tee;
  • a valve is mounted behind the tee;
  • An expansion tank crashes into the hot water pipe next to the tank.

In systems with a forced current of the coolant, this is the best way to connect an indirect heating boiler. The connection diagram of such equipment in networks with a pump is presented below.

Features of strapping in gravity systems

In such networks, the boiler is supposed to be mounted above the radiators. In heating systems without a pump, piping of indirect heating devices is done as follows:

  • to the coil, using pipes of a larger diameter than in the heating system, connect the supply from the boiler;
  • into the segment formed between the boiler and the boiler, the heating system feed is cut in;
  • in the interval between the resulting branch and the boiler, a thermostatic head with an autonomous sensor is mounted;
  • connect the boiler and the boiler with a return pipe;
  • cut intoreturn pipe line for the removal of the cooled coolant from the radiators;

When using such a scheme for connecting an indirect heating boiler to the boiler, at the final stage, an expansion tank is mounted on the return line.

What is a recycling system and why is it needed

In fairly large country cottages, consumers in the water supply system can be located at a considerable distance from the boiler. In this case, people living in the house have to wait a long time for the heated water to reach the tap. To solve this problem, a recirculation system is used in country cottages. In this case, a small pump is additionally included in the network.

Tie with recirculation system

The scheme for connecting an indirect heating boiler with recirculation in private homes is usually used as follows:

  • a tee cuts into a hot water pipe near a consumer;
  • a pipe is attached to the tee;
  • the other end of the line is connected to the boiler through its existing recirculation pipe;
  • near the boiler at the pipe, the pump is turned on in the circuit.

When using such a scheme, the water between the boiler and the consumer will subsequently not stagnate and, accordingly, cool.

In such units, water can be heated both from the heat carrier of the heating system and from electricity. Part of the designmodels of this type are heating elements. This allows residents of the house to use hot water not only during the heating period, but also in summer. In the warm season, heating in such boilers is carried out by a heating element. The strapping of devices of this type is done in the same way as conventional ones. At the final stage, boilers of this variety are connected to the mains through an RCD.

How to tie two boilers

Sometimes two such devices are installed in country houses or apartments. This is done in the event that, for example, if, in addition to the old device, the performance of which for some reason was not enough, a new one was purchased. The connection scheme for two indirect heating boilers is usually used in series.

Wiring diagram

Indirect heating boilers work from a normal household network at home 220 V. Wiring to such devices is most often pulled separately. It is allowed to connect such units to a common network. But before that, you need to make sure that the latter is able to withstand the power of the device.

It is believed that with a device power of up to 3.5 kW, the wiring for it should be three-core with a cross section of at least 2.5 mm2. In the electrical circuit for connecting an indirect heating boiler of such power, two-pole circuit breakers with a rated current of 16 A should be used.

In some cases, water heaters can be connected to the network at home and just through the outlet. Such an element for devices of this type must be selected with a degree of protection IP44. Connect in this wayonly boilers up to 3.5 kW are allowed.

Most Popular Models

Thus, we found out how, in certain cases, an indirect heating boiler can be connected. Connection diagrams, depending on the type of heating system installed in the building, such devices can be used differently. However, the methods described above are very well suited for the installation of boilers of almost any brand sold in Russia.

Most devices of this type currently available on the domestic market are of good quality, easy to install and operate. But the most popular brands of such equipment in our country at the moment are:

  • "Baksi";
  • Drazice;
  • Proterm.

Features of connecting Baksi boilers

Water heating devices of this brand today in Russia are very popular. All models of Baksi units are supplemented with a recirculation pipe and a heating element, and therefore are simply ideal for installation in large cottages. To connect the Baksi indirect heating boiler, the scheme strictly presented by the manufacturer must be used (see the instructions attached to the unit).

During the connection, it is also recommended to use the proprietary tie-in kit from Baksi. This manufacturer gives a two-year warranty on its equipment.

Connecting Drazice models

Boilers of thisbrands are supplied to the domestic market by the Czech company of the same name. The heat exchanger of such models is able to withstand the temperature of the heat carrier of the heating system up to 110 ° C. If desired, the owners of such a unit can independently set the necessary parameters for heating water in the water supply network. To connect the indirect heating boiler "Drazhitsa", the standard circuit is used.

Proterm models

The thermostat of this brand of equipment is set to a water heating temperature of 65 °C. If desired, the owners of the house can change this parameter to a more suitable one. The connection scheme for the indirect heating boiler "Proterm" is also used as usual. For connections when installing devices of this type, it is allowed, among other things, to use special flexible hoses. It is supposed to mount the latter in such a way that they are protected from chemical and mechanical damage.

Heat storage

Connection diagrams for indirect heating boilers Drazice, Proterm, Baksi are used in private homes are very simple. But often in such buildings, units of this type have to be mounted in combination not only with boilers, but also with heat accumulators. The main purpose of such devices is to save fuel or electricity. Heat accumulators are capable of accumulating unclaimed thermal energy at a given time and giving it away at the right time.

Connecting boilers to boilers with heat accumulators allows you to supply hot water to consumers in the houseuninterrupted even during peak periods. This, of course, increases the comfort of living in the building. The scheme for connecting an indirect heating boiler to a heat accumulator and a solid fuel boiler is shown in the figure above.
