Protective hood "Phoenix" - a device for protecting the human respiratory system. It is a personal protective equipment and is designed to independently exit from areas where poisoning with chemical and other harmful substances is possible, as well as to resist combustion products.
The protective hood "Phoenix" differs in that it has minimized dimensions and weight. Moreover, it is able to simultaneously protect against 20 kinds of different chemicals that are dangerous to humans.
Description
Self-rescuer "Phoenix" of the basic model is a hood with overall dimensions of 465 x 380 mm. It is made of durable and non-flammable polyamide transparent film. The lower part of the hood is equipped with a glued collar, which is made of elastic rubber. It has a hole for the head to be placed in the hood and then sealed with a cord in the neck area.
Universal sizes of the Phoenix hood make itthe application is convenient for persons with various parameters of the human head. At the same time, the presence of a beard, mustache, long hairstyles, glasses does not matter.
A filtering and absorbing element is fixed on the front of the hood, near the mouth.
Self-rescuer characteristics
The shelf life of the "Phoenix" hood, provided that it is in its original vacuum packaging, is five years. His weight is approaching 200 grams.
The materials of the Phoenix self-rescuer hood are resistant to ignition, they do not burn out when exposed to temperatures up to 800 °C. The hood is resistant to hazardous gas aerosol mixtures, the permeability coefficient for them is less than 2%.
Phoenix self-rescue hood provides protection from harmful effects for 20 minutes.
It effectively provides protection against dangerous gases (substances), namely:
- group A (acetonitriles, acroleins, benzene structures, acrylonitriles, methyl bromide compounds, methyl mercaptans, methyl acrylate suspensions, ethyl mercaptans, chloropicrin ethylene sulfide, cyclohexanes, organophosphorus substances);
- ACH group - acroleins;
- group B (hydrogen sulfide, carbon disulphide, chlorine compounds, hydrogen arsenic, hydrocyanic acid, phosgene);
- group E (hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen bromide);
- group K (ammonia, trimethylamines, dimethylamines).

To standardThe protective hood-self-rescuer "Phoenix" is equipped with a gas mask, which is a front part made of polyamide film. Its shape is created in the form of a cap that covers the entire head of a person. It also comes with a nose clip.
On the front part there is a neck seal made of rubber with non-flammable properties. Integrated into the hood:
- sealing neck cord;
- filter-absorbing element (box with sealing cuff).
The kit also includes:
- soft particulate filter equipped with a spring;
- exhalation valve with silicone patch;
- silicone mouthpiece.
The instruction (product passport) is attached to the self-rescuer. It is vacuum-packed and placed in a plastic bag for carrying.
Comparison with other analogues
The peculiarity of the "Phoenix" lies in the fact that, having a small mass and volume, in comparison with other Russian and foreign products of a similar class, it demonstrates much higher properties when protected from various substances. So it protects a person three times better when exposed to organic substances; from three to ten times - in an environment with acid gases; more than one and a half times - when a person is in an atmosphere with ammonia compounds.
"Phoenix" is the only domestic filtering self-rescuer, which experimentallyconfirmed its high efficiency in protection against combustion products and biological agents.
Practice shows that if a sudden emergency arises, then only means that are nearby can protect a person. And they can be applied immediately. Self-rescuer "Phoenix" in this case is the best option. It can be carried in pockets, in any bags, stored in cars, desktops, etc.
The small size of the "Phoenix" allows you to organize their storage centrally without creating any special places (rooms). This is especially true for hotels, supermarkets, gyms, educational institutions, railway and public urban transport, subway cars, etc.

- Phoenix hoods that have expired are accepted for recycling by the manufacturer. At the same time, more preferential terms are usually offered for the supply of new ones.
Phoenix 2
At present, a new modified model has been added to the existing self-rescuer. Its name is the "Phoenix -2" hood. It differs from the basic model by an increased duration of action, which is at least 60 minutes.
Constructive changes have also been made to the hull, which reduces the time it takes to put Phoenix-2 into working condition. This also becomes convenient for providing protection during a longer period of exposure to chemical contamination.
The weight of the Phoenix-2 self-rescuer has been slightly increased, it is 250 grams in a regular package.
