Ribbed slabs are a type of precast concrete product that is used in the early stages of building load-bearing structures. Until recently, ribbed slabs were used only in civil engineering during the construction of multi-storey buildings. But now they are actively used in industrial construction.
For example, attic, warehouse, industrial buildings are covered with ribbed slabs. In residential areas, the use of ribbed slabs is limited. Because of the beams, floors and ceilings cannot be made even, flat and smooth. The role of floor slabs cannot be overestimated, because thanks to them, the reliability, safety, and durability of any construction object is ensured.

Production of ribbed plates
Ribbed slabs are made of silicate dense concrete, lightweight dense concrete or heavy grade concrete. The main component of the structure is concrete and steel reinforcement. The materials must be of the highest quality. According to the standards, the maximum load on the slab itself cannot exceed 6 kPa (excluding the massplates). Ribbed slabs may have holes and cutouts in the shelves, if specified in the technical data sheet.
Embedded products are designed to fix plates to load-bearing structures. On the longitudinal edges of the outer face there are recesses for installing dowels between adjacent plates. Reinforced concrete ribbed slabs are manufactured strictly in accordance with the state standard.
Classification of slabs
By type of operation, two types of plates are distinguished:
1. Floor slabs.2. Coating slabs.
They have different weight stability, so their interchangeability is not possible. Ribbed reinforced concrete floor slabs are intended for installation of floors in multi-storey buildings, large industrial buildings, public buildings, utility and auxiliary buildings.
Covering slabs are necessary for the construction of one-story manufacturing plants.
Slab quality control
When buying a material, first of all, you should pay close attention to the marking of ribbed reinforced concrete slabs. Ribbed slabs (GOST) manufactured at factories must be accompanied by full information on the name, type, size, type of concrete, maximum withstand load, class of steel reinforcement, the presence of various holes and their diameters, etc.
But that's not all. The most important characteristic that ribbed reinforced concrete slabs should have is a high degree of reliability. They aremust meet the following requirements: water resistance, rigidity, strength, sound insulation, gas tightness, heat insulation, vapor barrier, fire resistance. For this reason, when buying ribbed plates, you should pay attention to the manufacturer, purchase plates only from trusted manufacturers. Products must pass quality control by the factory quality control department and have an accompanying document.
