Of course, only a rich person can afford a stationary large and comfortable pool. However, even the owner of a small area can build a pool in the country with his own hands. All that is required for this is a lot of time, desire, as well as financial investments.
Handy materials. Old tire
An excellent and inexpensive design option is an old tire from agricultural machinery. You can also use a tire from large construction equipment. The best option would be to use a tire from a combine, since its diameter is from 30 to 32 inches. These dimensions are quite enough to equip a place with cool water for one adult or for two children.
Material advantages
To find a suitable tire, you can contact a tire shop. For a small fee, you can buy a product there that is no longer usable. Among the advantages of this type of device are the following:
- Width of oversizedtires will allow you to build walls for the pool in the country with your own hands.
- The round shape of the tire is perfect for pool decoration.
- The inner frame of such products is very durable and completely sealed, and therefore it will perfectly retain water inside.
- The rubber that is used to produce these parts is very high quality, which means that it is not afraid of sudden temperature changes.
- Building a pool with your own hands in the country in this case is also beneficial because the cost of all materials will be several times lower than buying even a small finished product.
- It is possible to decorate with regular paint.
The only and significant disadvantage is the small volume, which is not suitable for swimming and other things. You can only rest and bring down the temperature.
Wooden pallet pool
Here it is worth starting with the fact that making a pool in the country with your own hands from pallets can be quite original and simple. The design of this device is great for creating walls. The pallets are stacked together. The more material available, the larger and rounder the shape of the structure will be.
For example, for a medium-sized structure, you will need from 9 to 11 pallets. This pool can easily accommodate 3-4 adults.
Of the benefits, the following can be distinguished:
- The height of the pallet is enough to build a pool of sufficient volume.
- Quite convenient to mountadditional elements such as stairs, steps, wooden slides.
- To equip this option, you do not have to dig a deep pit, which significantly saves time, effort and money.
- This option is not only an inexpensive pool, which you can build in the country with your own hands, but it is also easy to dismantle it to move it to another place or remove it altogether.
- If the need arises, you can easily repair or increase the volume by adding several sections, that is, pallets.
Building a pool from a tire. Base preparation
Before proceeding to the process itself, it is necessary to prepare the site. Remove all debris, uproot all plants, shrubs, etc.
Arrangement of a pool in the country with your own hands step by step from a tire is as follows:
- The tire is laid on its side and the inner part of the rubber layer is cut out along the circumference. During this work, it is necessary to navigate by the markings that are applied to the products themselves initially. This will greatly facilitate the work and make the cut fairly even. The use of a grinder is not allowed, as the rubber will quickly crumble and stick to the disc.
- After that, you need to prepare a place for the sand layer. There are two different methods used here. The first is that you need to dig a small hole, up to 25-30 cm deep, and a little larger in diameter than a tire. The soil is compacted, a sandy layer is poured, watered and compacted. Thicknesscompacted layer should be 15 cm.
- You can use another method. In this case, it is not necessary to dig a recess, it will only be enough to well level the surface where the tire will be located. Next, a sandy layer is poured and a similar tamping procedure takes place. However, experts strongly recommend using only the first method, since in this case the base will be much more reliable.
Installing the protector
Once the sand base has been prepared, you can proceed to the next steps.
- The compacted layer of sand should be covered with a mixture of cement, sand and water. The thickness of this coating should also be 15 cm. And this is the minimum. As the main material, that is, cement, a substance marked M300 is usually used. It is allowed to use a brand of better quality, but not lower. The ratio for mixing the solution is 1:3 (sand-cement). Fluid is added as needed. It will only affect the convenience of laying and distributing the solution.
- Immediately after the layer is applied, while the coating remains in a liquid consistency, it is necessary to mount a tire on it, install it and lightly press it into the solution. In this case, voids are formed between the tire and the solution - they must be repaired. You will need 2-3 more buckets of the mixture.
- Next, you need to wait until the concrete dries. Approximately 80% of its maximum strength layer will gain in 14 days after pouring. Completely dry in 25-28 days. When will it passat least the first term, you can start decorating the tread from the outside.
Naturally, you must not forget about laying any waterproofing material as a bottom. In addition, the inside of the tire is covered with a waterproof paint. Thus, without problems, a pool is being built in the country with their own hands from improvised means.
Plastic pool bottles
As surprising as it may sound, a large number of plastic bottles can be used to create a pool. Naturally, in addition to them, you will need some more material, namely: wooden boards and bars, gravel.
Dimensions of bars - 25 x 50 mm. Gravel fraction - 5/20. The length of the board will determine the length of the base for the structure where the sand and gravel pad will be poured.
Practical part: excavation and formwork
To assemble a pool in the country with your own hands from improvised materials, namely from bottles and boards, you must follow the following instructions:
- The site selected for construction is cleared of debris, a recess of 30 cm is made. Further, it is important to note that the formwork needs to be made larger on the sides by about 30 cm. Suppose, if the sides of the object are 300 cm each, then the pit should be in length 320-330 cm.
- Next comes the time of mounting the formwork for the structure. The installation step of the bars is 100-120 cm. In order to successfully connect all the boards into a solid frame, experts advise using a metal corner. For example,a furniture-type product with dimensions of 40 x 40 x 16 is perfect.
Preparing the base
After the formwork has been assembled and the foundation pit dug, you can proceed to the following steps:
- The wood structure is installed inside the recess. The soil inside the formwork is lightly compacted. In order to prevent the growth of weeds, chemicals can be used. Next, a layer of sand is poured, as well as gravel. The thickness of each coating should be between 12 and 15 cm.
- In the event that there is no gravel, you can, for example, use a reinforcing mesh that can be assembled from rods. For this, the rods must be tied together with ordinary wire. The mesh frame must be installed so that it does not touch the sand layer. It is allowed to lay rods on bricks, for example.
- Before proceeding to the pouring of concrete, it is necessary to determine in advance the place where the drain hole will be located. During the pouring process, it will need to be aligned with the plane of the pool surface.
- At this stage, it is necessary to pour the concrete mixture. It is recommended to use a concrete mixer, and compact the concrete after pouring with a long wooden slat or shovel.
- It will be possible to build a pool in the country with your own hands only after 14-18 days, when the concrete dries enough.
- A landmark is set so that the masonry is accurate. A cement-sand mortar is laid along a stretched landmark. Immediately on the fresh solution is placed plasticcontainer, which is pre-filled with sand. The bottles are tied together with 3 mm wire, and the laying process itself resembles working with bricks. The optimal wall height for such a pool is 100-150 cm.
Completion of works
After the main installation has been completed, you can proceed to the final finish. To do this, it is necessary to cover all the cracks and voids in the walls with a solution until an even, solid base is obtained.
If you need a layer thickness of more than 3 cm to hide all defects, then it is better to resort to the use of reinforcing stacks. It is attached with self-tapping screws to the bottom of the bottles. The final coating of the walls is painting with a waterproof substance in 1, and preferably in 2 layers. After painting, it is best to wait at least 5 days before filling the pool with water. Ready-made photos of pools in the country, made by craftsmen with their own hands, are presented in our article.
Care Tips
Water in swimming pools becomes polluted quite quickly and can become a favorable environment for the development of harmful bacteria. In addition, fallen leaves, debris, etc. often accumulate on the surface of the water. Therefore, careful care of the finished structure is necessary.
For small pools, for example from a tire, it is realistic to make a roof to cover them. Small debris can be caught using a net with small cells. Water in such places must be changed every two to three days. It is quite possible to use it for watering crops.
Cleaningwater
Building an indoor pool in the country with your own hands is quite difficult, and therefore you need to know how to purify water. There are several ways.
You can resort to normal physical cleaning. Large and small debris is removed with a long net. The inner surface is cleaned with a brush and a vacuum cleaner. A water filter is recommended.
You can resort to chemical cleaning. Here you will have to use special substances that purify the water and normalize the pH in the water. The use of chemicals prevents the appearance of algae and also removes even small particles of fat.
