Summer. Heat. Summer season is in full swing. Who wouldn't want a pool in their country house? Photos of beautiful home-made pools are pushing you to build your own. Having gathered all the will into a fist, having estimated all the pros and cons, we say to ourselves: “Why not?” And then an active search for information begins, questions from experienced people about how to make a pool with their own hands.
It should be noted right away that self-construction of the pool and its maintenance is not cheap and will require considerable financial costs and physical effort, but the decision has been made, it is too late to retreat. Let's dwell on one of the relatively inexpensive ways to make a pool with your own hands in your country house. So let's get started.
The first thing to start with is to decide on a place for the future pool. It is advisable to choose a sunny place so that the water in it warms up better. The absence of closely spaced trees will partially save us from the question of whether there will be an indoor pool in the country. After all, falling leaves serve as a source of additional pollution. It will take a lot of effort and time to clean up.
The second important criterion when considering how to make a pool with your own hands is its size. Naturally, the more the better, but the financial costs will increase in direct proportion to its size. The best option for a country pool will be:
-depth 1, 2-1, 5m;
-length 2.5-3m;
-width 2.5-3m.
It should be noted that the rounded shapes of the pool bowl will most harmoniously fit into the country landscape, but they will also require great effort in their implementation.
The place has been chosen, the size and shape too, it's time to start earthworks.
The volume is dug out 15-20 cm more than the size of the pool - this will be the thickness of the walls of the bowl. Two - three days plus one "human strength" and the foundation pit is ready. By the way, in advance you need to take care of where to put the soil. Alternatively, it can be used in the construction of garden paths and slides.
Our future pool is starting to take shape. Now you need to take care of waterproofing. Polyethylene and even roofing material can serve as a waterproofing material. They need to cover the walls and the bottom of the pit, not forgetting to make an allowance of 20-30 cm from above for the edges. If roofing material is used as waterproofing, then its joints must be treated with bitumen (observing safety measures when working with hot material). It turned out to be a kind of black box.
Now you need to fix the reinforcing mesh on the walls and bottom. It can be purchased ormake it yourself from steel wire or reinforcement with a diameter of 8-12 mm. If it is planned to manufacture the sides of the pool, then the edges of the reinforcement should protrude upwards above the level of the pit to a height slightly less than the height of the sides. If desired, the pool can be provided with a drain for water using a pump. Then the reinforcing mesh at the bottom is laid with a slope of 2-3 degrees, and in one of the corners a drainage pipeline is equipped with plastic pipes with a diameter of 1.5-2 inches.
Next, you can start concreting the bottom, observing the slope. Having taken care of the drainage hole in advance, you need to close it with a wooden or fabric gag. When preparing concrete, you can use cement M-400 in a ratio of 1: 3. A rammer is used to evenly distribute the concrete.
After the concrete has hardened (5-7 days), you can begin to install the formwork. Its height is made taking into account the sides of the future pool. Chipboard or plywood with polyethylene pre-fixed (using a furniture stapler) on the working surface is ideal as a material. It is important to install spacers from a bar in order to avoid deformation when concreting the walls.
So, the pool bowl is ready. After 7-10 days (to prevent cracking of concrete, we pour water over the bowl all this time), you can proceed to the interior decoration. Ideal glass mosaic or tile.
When the finishing work is completed, you can start decorating the pool, because everyone knows better for themselves how to make a pool with their own hands to make it look evenand very beautiful.
